What is Paper.io
Paper.io is an online multiplayer game that involves, and there’s no simpler way to say this, hoarding territory. The game follows our character, a square traversing across the map. The game begins with a circle, which is our territory. We slowly traverse, but quickly come back to our safe space. Well, our safe space isn’t the same anymore, it seems to have increased! The player’s movement can be seen through a translucent trail that follows them. When the player returns back to their area, the area within the trail then becomes our area, indicated by the change in color. To avoid confusion, the map begins as a plain white space and everyone wreaks havoc.
Soon, you see other players sliding around you, much like yourself. You can also obtain parts of other player’s territory to add to your own. But beware, because your territory is in constant danger of being taken. When you find a player outside their area, touching their trail results in death and subsequently loss of their accumulated area. The game features multiple game modes and is evidently quite addictive.
