Friday Night Funkin Nintendo Switch version is not coming as Nintendo rejects the game

Friday Night Funkin was pitched to Nintendo to make it available on Nintendo Switch eShop. However, things didn’t go as planned and unfortunately FnF didn’t get the approval. Here’s everything you need to know.

Friday Night Funkin is a rhythm game developed by ninja_muffin99. It revolves around the story of a boyfriend trying to impress his girlfriend but isn’t able to do so as he faces hurdles on his path. He has to defeat his opponents in a battle of music by hitting the correct notes at the correct time to impress his girlfriend. The game is available on Windows, macOS, Linux.

Witnessing its growing popularity among the community, the devs wanted to make this game available on the Nintendo Switch eShop as well for players who like gaming on the go. But unfortunately, their request was rejected by Nintendo.

However, the exact reason for the rejection was not listed but we think that since Friday Night Funkin is not a fully released title, Nintendo didn’t want to take the chances of allowing a game that is under construction to be available on their Switch eShop.

Will Friday Night Funking ever be available on Nintendo Switch eShop?

Of course, it will be. The game wasn’t 100% ready before pitching to avoid the error codes due to the new OS support. So, if they construct the Switch version alongside, the code rectification is greatly minimized. But now, they might be finishing the game first then appeal to Nintendo for their approval.

If we finish the game 100%, and then have to make the Switch version, there very well could be deep rooted problems in the code that we would have to do big overhaul work on. If we tested and made the Switch version ALONGSIDE, the game would be programmed with that stuff in mind
