Monster Hunter Rise is undoubtedly one of the best games we have come across so far, and we have zero questions about it. This is the sixth direct instalment in the Monster Hunter series and has become the second bestselling game in the series.
It has only been released for Nintendo Switch to date, and the users have given some of the best reviews about the game. It is an action role-playing game developed and published by Capcom. It has some really good action sequences, and you are going to love the monster-hunting element included in it. It follows the story from where Monster Hunter World left it back in 2018.
Players have to take up the role of a hunter. Their main objective is to capture or slay large and unique monsters by using various tools, weapons and environmental factors while serving their attacks.
So what is different? Monster Hunter Rise has a seamless approach into the map- introduced by World – different from the zonal approaches we saw in the previous versions. So players can now move in with full liberty without worrying about any dead zones! The maps have a particular vertical focus, so the main motive would be to move upward rather than forward. So, Rise has the new Wirebug, similar to the Clutch Claw in World, which will help the players in grappling and vertical movement.
The game has also introduced a new dog-like companion, the Palmutes, for a better experience in the game. These Palmutes have various uses. These can be used to travel and explore the map faster without losing stamina or fight with the monsters during an intense battle. On top of that, Palmutes can also scale high cliffs faster than anything! As an addition, players will get their cat-like companions Palicoes – who return from the last part – as well!
There is a new mode included – the Rampage mode. This is a basic survival mode where players have to defend a village from several attacking monsters. The best part is that players can instruct the non-playing characters to attack the monsters while they attack those directly as well!
Capcom has released the Monster Hunter Rise demo version recently and players have enjoyed playing it on PC and consoles altogether. A fact to mention is that Rise will have both local and single-player, and online multiplayer modes included. In single-player mode, players have to fight off the deadly monsters with both of their companions – the Palicoes and Palmutes. But the online mode allows the players to select either one of the both to accompany them. In multiplayer, they can team up with three other hunters to form a group of four and fight off the monsters.
Coming to the topic, since the game has a release date for the PC version now, can we expect controller support too? The answer is yes. Capcom has clearly mentioned that the game is going to support every controller like PS4, DualShock, etc.
So players can enjoy the game without using the regular mouse and keyboard! For those who have tried having the controllers in the demo version but fail to use it, here is the reason why.
