Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is just a month and a few days away from its official release on November 10, 2023. And with this, Activision continues its confusing naming convention and yearly release of COD games. As for 2022’s Modern Warfare II, the game hasn’t seen any major decrease in its popularity and still remains one of the most played FPS on Steam. It also got a new battlepass in the form of Season 06: Blackcell. However, it seems like the Battlepass isn’t working properly in COD Modern Warfare 2 as well as Warzone 2, as evidenced by some player statements.
The problem seems to be that players don’t receive the instant rewards after purchasing the Battlepass with CP, and the prompt to do so is still present. While there are others who straight up can’t access the BP, these are the issues with Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 since both share the same BP system. So, is there a fix? Let’s find out!
COD Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) Battlepass Not Working Issue: Is there any fix yet
Try the following workarounds and see which one is of help to you. Make sure to try every workaround mentioned in this list.
Restart the game and PC/console –
Much like any other issue, a quick restart might just be all you need to fix this. Do so and see if it helps. In case this doesn’t work, try restarting your PC or console too. As you can see here, this has worked for some players, so it might work in your case as well. However, if the issue remains, try another workaround.
Verify game files –
The issue might be related to the game missing some of its important files. The only way to fix that is by verifying or repairing the files. To do this:
On Steam:
- Open Steam and head straight to the Library.
- Find the game there and right-click on it.
- Select Properties > Installed Files > Verify the integrity of game files.
- After verification is done, restart the PC and then launch the game.
On Battle.net:
- Open Battle.net and locate the game.
- Select the cogwheel next to the Play button and click on Scan and Repair > Begin Scan.
- Once the repair is finished, restart your PC and then launch the game.
Update –
Make sure you are running the latest version of the game. If there are any updates pending, now is the time to download them. Once the update is downloaded and installed, there’s a pretty high chance that this battle pass issue won’t be there anymore.
Check the server status –
If the server has some issues, it could result in the Battlepass encountering problems of its own. That’s why you should go ahead and check the server status of the game when such an issue occurs. Head to the official Activision Online Services webpage, select COD MW2 from the drop-down menu and check the server status. If the servers are down, then you will have to wait until they are back online.
Redownload the game –
Use this workaround if none of the aforementioned workarounds work. Simply close the game, delete or uninstall it, and start a new download. Once the installation is complete, open the game and see if the issue persists.
