Valorant not getting full screen : How to fix it

Valorant is a free-to-play 5v5 tactical first-person online hero shooter from Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends. The game is available on Microsoft Windows only. The eSports online multiplayer competition for Valorant is one of the fastest-growing in the world. Likewise, the game is one of the most popular free-to-play online multiplayer games on Windows PC.

Gameplay Overview

Valorant players take on the roles of agents. Each of the agents’ designs is inspired by different countries and cultures around the world. Agents have unique special abilities that each of which requires charges, as well as one or more signature abilities. In the main mode of Valorant, players are assigned to a five-person team either on the attacking or defending side.


The different modes in Valorant include an Unrated Mode, Spike Rush, Competitive, Deathmatch, and also Escalation. The game currently features 16 agents to choose from.Valorant Characters

The full-screen issue in Valorant

Many players of the game have this issue when playing the game on their PC. The issue occurs when the game’s entire view and display hud are not filling out the entire screen. Consequently, there are black bars on the screen where the game doesn’t fully utilize the display.

How to Fix full-screen issue in Valorant

Here is a brief step-by-step guide on how to fix the full-screen issue in the game.

  1. The first step is to make sure your Windows display resolution is 1:1 with your display monitor’s resolution.
  2. The next step is to locate the ‘GameUserSettings.ini’ file on your computer. You can do this by searching the term in the local disk drive where Valorant is installed. Once the results appear, you need to right-click on the search result and click on ‘Open file location’.
  3. Now, open ‘GameUserSettings.ini’ in Notepad as a text file.
  4. Once in Notepad, find the lines, “ResolutionSizeX” & “ResolutionSizeY”, and change their values according to your display resolution.
  5. Then also, find the lines, “LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX” & “LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY”, and also change their values as in the previous step.
  6. After making the changes, make sure to save the file and launch the game.
