Need for Speed (NFS) Unbound Full-Screen not working: How to fix it?
Now, there are several reasons why you might be facing this issue. So, we have mentioned some solutions that might help you out. We have also listed a solution that has helped another player with the same problem. So, let us begin.
1) Check your in-game settings-
A lot of times, players forget to check the in-game settings. You can switch between Windowed, Full-Screen, and Borderless Full-Screen modes in the game. All you have to do is launch NFS Unbound and hop into the settings. Here, go to Video and then change the mode to Full-Screen.
2) Switch your GPU-
A user reported that NFS Unbound was running in Windowed mode for him. Whenever this player tried switching the screen mode, the game crashes without any error messages. If you are facing the same situation, then the game might be using your integrated GPU. If your system has two GPUs, then press the Windows key and type NVIDIA Control Panel. Now, go to 3D settings> Manage 3D settings. From the drop-down menu, select NFS Unbound. Now, all you have to do is select your dedicated GPU from the Preferred graphics processor option. You can follow similar steps in case you have an AMD GPU.
3) Restart the system and the game-
Sometimes, the game does not switch the settings. A quick restart mostly fixes this issue. You can also reboot your system and check if the changes have taken effect. Rebooting your system will also fix other bad-boot-related issues.
4) Update your GPU drivers-
Outdated GPU drivers can cause unforeseen issues while playing a video game. So, we highly recommend you update your GPU drivers. You can visit either NVIDIA’s or AMD’s website and download the latest version of the drivers.
5) Verify the game files-
If you downloaded NFS Unbound from Steam, then you can verify the game files to replace any corrupt files. To do this, go to Steam> Library> right-click NFS Unbound. now, select Properties and then head over to the Local Files tab. Here, you will find the Verify integrity of the game files option. This usually takes a while so be patient.
6) Update the game-
In case EA releases a hotfix, make sure to download and install it. Outdated game files can also trigger issues. This is especially the case with games that have online multiplayer features. So, always keep NFS Unbound up to date.
So, these were some methods that might fix the Full-Screen issue in NFS Unbound. In case you are still facing the problem, then make sure to contact EA Support for further assistance.
