You can’t deny the fact that with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomniac has once again shown how fantastic they are at making games. But you also can’t deny the fact that there are certain issues in the game that should be addressed as soon as possible. And one such issue happens to be the Error Code CE-108262-9 that players have been complaining about.
Well, as the name implies, it is indeed an error. One that mainly arises from the console being unable to properly read the “system software or application data”. As for the cause of this error, there could be many, ranging from the console being behind system updates to even database problems. But the main point is that, like any other error code, it can be dealt with. And so, here’s a guide for you.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Error Code CE-108262-9: Is there any fix yet
Sony does have a defined fix for this issue, which we have mentioned below. So, try that along with the other potential workarounds.
Update the console –
The one and only fix mentioned by Sony is to simply update the system software along with the application software. So, players can start with this method before moving on to other workarounds. Once you have updated both the console and the game, see if you encounter this error again.
Rebuild database –
Rebuilding the console’s database could also prove effective enough in dealing with this particular error. If you haven’t tried this before, follow the instructions below carefully:
- First and foremost, turn off the console.
- Now, hold the power button until you hear a second beep from the PS5. You will hear the beep around the seven-second mark, so you won’t have to wait long.
- Next, get your controller and connect it to the console via the USB cable. You now need to press the PlayStation button on the controller.
- From the options presented to you, select Rebuild Database. Wait until the process is complete to launch the game.
Restart –
You can even try doing multiple restarts of the game to see if it helps with getting rid of this error. Perform a restart of the console and find out whether the issue persists. Players can even try doing a power cycle if they want. What you will be doing is essentially turning off the console and then unplugging it from the socket. Wait a good few seconds, and then plug the console back in. Start the console and then the game.
Factory reset –
Just in case nothing else works for you, try factory resetting the console. Do note that this will delete all of your data, including games, so ensure that you have a speedy internet connection to download everything back. As for how to factory reset the PS5, all you really need to do is:
- Head to the home screen of your PS5 and select Settings (cogwheel icon at the top).
- Next, select System > System Software > Reset Options > Reset Your Console > Reset.
- After the resetting process is complete, wait for the PS5 to start and redownload the necessary files and updates.
Contact support –
If even factory resetting the console doesn’t work, the only option for you is to contact support. So, make sure to describe the issue in detail, and hopefully, the official team will contact you regarding the same.
If the issue is resolved and you are trying to change the language in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, here’s everything you need to know. And as always, keep following DigiStatement for more guides like this. Also read: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Release Date for PC: When is it coming out
