With Forza Horizon 5 available in full access now, players have already started getting deeper into the story mode of the game and the reviews have just been mind-blowing. The game has quite a lot to offer and is undoubtedly the best open-world racing game ever made.
But then there are certain bugs, glitches and issues which have made the in-game experience somewhat deter. Two of these issues are the error codes FH301 and E1704-0 which the players are getting in common. So is there a fix for these error codes? Yes, there is. But before that, here is the list of all the error codes you may receive in the game and their meaning –
- FH001
This means failed to load or initialize the Target Hardware Profiler dll. This could be because of a missing Visual C++ redistributable. This should be installed by the store only. Other initialization errors might cause the THP dll to fail to initialize. If you are still receiving this error after you download the redistributable, you can submit a ticket below and attach your DXDIAG so one of the game’s Customer Advocates can investigate.
- FH101
This occurs when you need a minimum of 4 CPU logical processors, anything below this will throw this error code.
- FH201
This occurs when the Graphics card does not support the DX12 features required.
- FH202
This occurs when the Graphics card has less than 2Gb of VRAM.
- FH203
This occurs when the Graphics card does not support the DX12 features required.
- FH204
This occurs when the Graphics card does not support the DX12 features required.
- FH301
This occurs when the graphics card driver needs to be updated, the latest AMD and NVidia graphic card drivers are required to function correctly.
- FH401
This occurs when there is insufficient system memory.
- FH501
This occurs when the Graphics card does not support DX12.
- FH601
This occurs when the game is unable to load the Microsoft Media Foundation, these components may need installing.
- E1704-0
This occurs when the game has some issues related to the progress save or cloud synchronisation.
Among all of these error codes, the most commonly reported ones are the codes FH301 and E1704-0. So here are the fixes –
FIX ERROR CODE FH301
The error code FH301 come up when you have outdated graphics drivers and GPU, and you need to update them. Well, in most cases the game is right and there are updates available for the drivers and GPU.
You are more likely to see this error if you used the Device Manager to update the GPU. So it is recommended to use GeForce Experience or visit the manufacture’s website to get the update from there.
If the error still appears after updating the GPU, you can simply ignore the error and continue with the game. You may also attempt to install the Studio Driver instead of the Game Ready Drivers to avoid the error. In any case, the error does not stop you from continuing with the game, so it’s a minor nuisance at most.
FIX ERROR CODE E1704-0
The error E1704-0 is caused when the game has issues with the save. It mostly occurs when you have enabled cloud synchronization on the Steam client. To fix the error, you can simply delete your current save file and disable the cloud sync. This simple workaround will allow you to avoid the Forza Horizon 5 Error E1704-0 in the future.
