Fabledom is the debut game of the Swedish video game studio, Grenaa Games. Published by Dear Villagers and Doyoyo Games, it is a sandbox city-builder title where players can build settlements, raise armies, elect kings or queens, and do much much more. The game was released on the 13th of April 2023 under Steam’s Early Access program. Well, the devs have also mentioned that Fabledom will remain in early access at least for a year. As is with other games that are in their early access phase, Fabledom also lacks in certain areas. Similarly to that, it is also missing some key features like multiplayer mode. And so, new fans have been asking if the game supports Steam Cloud Saves or not.
Cloud saves have lately become somewhat of an important feature for video games. Thanks to this feature, gamers don’t really have to worry about their progress getting lost due to save file corruption or when playing on a different system. They can simply log into their account and play the game from where they left off. This is why Steam Cloud saves is so much popular. But, not all games support this feature. So, what about Fabledom? Does the game support Steam Cloud Saves? Let’s find out!
Fabledom Steam Cloud Saves support: Is it available
As of writing this article, Fabledom doesn’t support Steam Cloud Saves. Well, some players did request this feature on the game’s Steam discussion page. Jane, one of the developers of the game, replied by stating that they will try to implement Steam Cloud saves support in the game later.
Most of the players requesting this feature are the ones with Valve’s own Steam Deck handheld. The Steam Deck is turning out to be a hit among many and so it makes sense that Fabledom fans would want such a feature for their game. It allows them to not worry about being unable to pick up the game from where they left off when switching between their PC and their Deck.
The ETA for Steam Cloud saves support remains unknown though. Grenaa Games is an indie studio consisting of only two devs. Due to their limited capabilities, the development of the game and its features will surely take some time. That’s also the reason why they haven’t started working on a multiplayer mode yet. Besides, the game already has a roadmap published on its Steam page and it is pretty evident that they will be focusing most of their time on completing what the roadmap promised.
Unfortunately, the content of the roadmap has stuff only about upcoming content like new buildings, castles, marriages, and others. There was no mention of any Steam Cloud saves support. So, all we can do now is to take a wait-and-see approach and hope that Grenaa Games introduce this feature sometime in the upcoming months. That being said, don’t forget to bookmark DigiStatement to get the latest on what’s going around in the gaming world.
