Vivo is a Chinese tech brand that grew to fame with the launch of V-series. Vivo is owned by BBK electronics which is also a parent brand to other massive tech companies- OnePlus, Oppo and Realme. The brand’s devices are the name and fame to the early rise of pop-up camera. It is one of those brands that experiment and come creative with unused features like pop-up cameras and punch-hole camera.
A very popular device from Vivo is the Vivo V9 Youth, another one in the V-series! Vivo V9 Youth was released in the month of April 2018 is a mid-range device. But two years down the line, users got all their hopes killed with a piece of news announced by Vivo recently.
No Android 10 update for Vivo V9 Youth-
Vivo runs a popular fan group on Facebook that goes by the name “Vivo Fans Group”. The page is extremely interactive and also used as a platform to announce important Vivo news at times. One of the users posted on the group asking whether the Vivo V9 Youth will receive an Android 10 update (refer image below).
To that question came a saddening reply from the official end. Vivo has confirmed that Vivo V9 Youth users will not be receiving an Android 10 OS update.
The official word is made, and it is pointless to expect an update anymore. The even worse part is that Vivo V9 Youth was launched with Android 8.1 OS out-of-the-box. Since then, users have received only one major update, Android 9 (Pie). Android users usually get 2 major OS updates unless the device is incompatible. Seems like Vivo Y9 Youth is going through a similar phase.
Vivo Y9 Youth was the affordable variant manufactured for the fans of the original variant- Vivo V9. The V9 Youth currently costs about 260 EUR and is available in Champagne Gold, Pearl Black, and Red colors. The device is powered by Snapdragon 450 chipset and comes in two variants.
