It has been a trying few months from Valve’s Dota 2 as players have voiced their criticism for the Battle Pass. They had to put down the plans for International 2020 due to COVID but it is fair to say that the battle pass has been a success. It has collected over 35 million dollars making the next international the biggest prize pool in esports history! Now let us talk about the new arcana released today- Compass of the Rising Gale. This is the third arcana released with the Battle Pass 2020 after Wraith King and Queen of Pain in the past few months.
Being a huge Dota 2 fan, this immediately became my favourite arcana out of the three. I love the anime aesthetic that the Windranger Arcana has, it looks absolutely beautiful.
The Compass of the Rising Gale Windranger Arcana
“The mysteries of her birth had always enchanted Lyralei and her adopted family.” is how the Dota 2 blog starts the lore. So what perks do you get with the new Windranger arcana?
Valve has added a lasso for Windranger to Dota 2 called Compass of the Rising Gale. The item set will be available to all Battle Pass 2020 owners who have reached level 575.
Like other Arcana rarities, the new Windranger skin replaces the character model and ability icons, and unlocks special effects, animations, and voice lines. In addition to this, Compass of the Rising Gale provides new animations and icons for Force Stuff and Eul’s Scepter.
The new model of Windranger is based on the theme of her harnessing wind! She gets new ambient effects, custom-designed channel bars, hero portraits and custom minimap icon!
The second style as is also traditional with recent arcana is unlockable. You can unlock style 2 of Windranger arcana by getting 2,500,000 damage done in killing enemies with the ultimate. The alternate style is called Reflections of the Gale and is completely in a beautiful red aesthetic.
