Disabling clouds isn’t as simple as toggling a switch in the in-game settings. It’s more like an advanced setting and requires the use of console commands. By default, console access is turned off. However, enabling it isn’t a complex process and can be done from the settings within the game. Still, if you are not sure how to enable console commands, don’t worry, we have got you covered. Just follow the steps given below.

  • From the game’s home screen, go to Settings.
  • Now, navigate to the Advanced tab.
  • Here, look for the option labeled “Enable Console Access” and set it to “ON“.
  • Once you’ve made this change, don’t forget to save your settings and exit the Settings menu.

With console access enabled, you can open the console using a simple keybind. By default, the console key (~). All you have to do is press (~) and type in the commands you want to take effect in the game. With this knowledge, you are ready to disable clouds in ASA.

How to Disable Clouds?

Now that you have the console open, you can type the command to disable clouds. Enter “r.VolumetricCloud 0” without the commas and press Enter. This command tells the game not to render volumetric clouds, and now you can enjoy improved performance.

Bringing the Clouds back

So, what do you do if you want to revert the change? Well, If you ever want to re-enable clouds, follow the same steps, but this time use the command “r.VolumetricCloud 1”. This command will enable the rendering of volumetric clouds again.
