For the King 2 (II) Stuck on Loading Screen Issue: Is there any fix yet

For the King 2 by IronOak Games is here, and by the looks of it, it’s not a successful launch. It feels like it would’ve been much better if the developers delayed the game a bit and polished it further. While the gameplay side of things is good enough, it’s the bugs and issues that are particularly giving players a hard time. And one of the major ones happens to be the Stuck on Loading Screen issue.

As you might have guessed already, this issue is making players stuck on a perpetual loading screen. There are also some who were only able to see the initial cut scenes and then just got stuck on the loading screen. Considering the state FTK2 is in right now, the developers certainly need to do something about this issue soon. So, in the meantime, is there a workaround for this issue? Well, consider reading to find out!

Fortunately, the developers are aware of this issue. So, until this issue is completely fixed by a patch or something, you can try the following workarounds:

Restart –

Players can start by using the restart method. Just do a restart of the game first, and then move on to restarting the PC itself if the former doesn’t work. This isn’t really a surefire way to resolve this issue, but at times it can prove effective enough.

Delete certain files –

First, over to the following path: C:\Users\ [Your username folder]\AppData\LocalLow\IronOakGames\For The King II. Now, delete everything in that folder, and then launch the game. Some players have reported that this workaround didn’t work for them, so if the same happens in your case, make sure to try the next one.

Update your GPU drivers –

The issue could be the result of simple driver problems. If you happen to haven’t updated your GPU drivers in a while, we recommend you update them ASAP. Once they are downloaded and installed, launch the game and see if the issue persists.

Repair files –

Issues such as these are a common sight when a game happens to have certain files either missing or corrupted. The same might be the case here. As such, the best way to deal with this would be to simply repair the files. You can do that by starting Steam and then navigating to Library. From there, right-click on For the King 2 and select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. After the verification process is over, restart your PC and then start the game.

Rename lib_burst_generated.dll –

This is quite a strange fix, but if it works, then we’ve got no complaining to do. Basically, as you can see here, what you will be doing is heading to the following path first: C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\For The King II\For the King II_Data\Plugins\x86_64. Now, find the lib_burst_generated.dll file and rename it. Don’t do anything major. Just put an extra letter before the .dll part and save the file. This will force the game to create the file again once launched, and hopefully fix the issue for good.

Well, we hope that you find this guide informative. And if you happen to be a fan of RPG titles like this, why not try Baldur’s Gate 3 and check out things like how to increase party size for more chaotic fun?
