Under development by Far From Home, a new apocalyptic survival game, Forever Skies, is coming out on June 22, 2023. The game will be available for players on PC via Steam under the Early Access program. In fact, besides the PC version, Forever Skies will also come out for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as Far From Home announced. Evidently, the developers have planned on tapping into a wide audience by releasing their game on multiple platforms. However, this doesn’t mean that the game is coming out on every platform. There isn’t any update regarding the PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch versions of Forever Skies yet. So will the game come out on these consoles? For players who enjoy playing science fiction survival games, Forever Skies is going to be a great addition. In this game, players play the role of a scientist returning to a post-apocalyptic Earth. You will need to build and control an airship that can fly over the toxic clouds that cover Earth. The announcement video revealed some stunning shots and gameplay sequences from Forever Skies, and everything looks spectacular. If this excites you, then you must be waiting eagerly for the launch of the game. However, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch players might just be missing out on this experience. With no official update, players are wondering if the game will come out on these platforms at all.
Will there be a Release Date of Forever Skies on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch?
For developers, releasing on multiple platforms is good business, as it helps them reach a large audience. However, despite this, many developers/publishers are deciding against releasing their games on a number of consoles these days. Especially the old-gen consoles are often avoided by the developers of these latest games. Why so? The major reason is, of course, the fact that these old-gen consoles often face performance issues while running the latest games. They simply cannot support the content and graphics-heavy games. Thus, players on these consoles are missing out on a number of the latest games, and the trend continues.
The bad news for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch owners continues as yet another game is going to leave out on these platforms. Yes, Far From Home doesn’t have a release date for the PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch. As they announced via the FAQs on Kickstarter, Forever Skies will not be released on the previous generation of consoles. Moreover, as the developers have announced, they’re not planning on releasing this game on Steam Deck, VR, Mac, or Linux. Thus, if you own either of these platforms, it looks like you won’t be able to experience Forever Skies at all. However, as we always say, we can never say never in the world of gaming. If Forever Skies is appreciated by the fans, and if the demand grows, the developers might consider porting it to old-gen consoles as well.
