Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Widevine L1 issue fixed in new (MIUI v11.0.5.0) update [Download Now]

Xiaomi owned Chinese sub-brand Redmi provides some of the awesome smartphones in the Redmi Note 9 lineup. Ever since the launch of Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi has been successfully expanding the Redmi Note lineup. After the success of its Redmi Note 8 series, Redmi has now launched the next installment of devices to the Note family: Redmi Note 9 series. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is one of the latest, top of the line smartphones offered by Redmi. The devices launched a few days back in a huge online event hosted on 12 March.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro features a 6.67 inch 1080p IPS LCD panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate. The Qualcomm SM7125 Snapdragon 720G SoC powers the device. It comes with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage. The smartphone runs on Android 10 out of the box with the latest MIUI on top. The device is powered by a massive 5020 mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

In the photography department, the device features a rectangular quad-camera setup at the back with a 48 MP sensor as the primary camera, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, a 5 MP Macro lens, and a 2 MP sensor for depth sensing. On the front, the device has got a 16 MP punch hole selfie camera. Overall, Note 9 Pro can click some good pictures.

Well, some users reported that they are having issues with Full HD playback in OTT apps Netflix, Amazon Prime videos, etc. When reviewed by critics, they found the device was missing the necessary Widevine L1 certification, which is essential to stream Full HD videos on OTT platforms. The smartphone shows Widevine L3 certification; however, it sometimes even shows Widevine L1; over the top, it didn’t feature HDR certification as well.Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Widevine L1 issue fixed in new (v11.0.5.0) update

Xiaomi recently acknowledged the bug and assured that it would be fixed in the future OTA. Now, the company is rolling a new update for Redmi Note 9 Pro that fixes the Widevine L1 certification issues and HDR related problems. The version number of this update is v11.0.5.0. The changelog of the update mentions only two things but is also fixes the Widevine L1 issues as reported b XDA-developers.
