How to fix controller/gamepad not working in WWE 2k22.
WWE 2k22 suffers from a few bugs, however, they are not that major and require only a few steps to fix. We have mentioned fixes below that you can try to get your controller working in the game.
Restart your PC.
Every user knows this obvious method but is often overlooked by fans and is something you should try. So, consider restarting your PC and then try launching the game to see if it fixes anything.
Exit the game and turn on/off your controller
If you’ve plugged in your controller and the game is not recognizing it, turn off the game and switch off your controller. Try turning on your controller again and plug it into your PC and open WWE 2k22 again.
Unplug the mouse/keyboard and every other external device.
Using this fix has worked for many people and it should work for you as well. Unplug the mouse, keyboard, and see if the controller is responding or not, then connect the keyboard and mouse back if you want to. Also try to unplug USB devices like headsets, additional joysticks, and additional USB adapters and launch the game to check if they aren’t interfering with controllers.

Launch the game in windowed mode using the config file.
You can modify the value of the WWE 2k22 config.ini to launch the game in windowed mode as this can fix the controller bug. For this, launch File Explorer and go to “Documents” on the left side of the window, open the WWE 2k22 folder and under it, right-click on the config.ini file and open it with Notepad. Under the windowed section, change the “windowed = no” option to “Yes”. After this, click on File, and then click on “save”. Launch the game and see if the controllers are working or not.
Enable Steam Overlay.
Enabling Steam overlay has fixed the issue for many players. So, launch Steam and right-click on the game in the Steam library, and select “Properties”. Check the “Enable Steam Overlay while in-game” option and start WWE 2K22.
Configure the controller.

Select the game’s .exe file and click on the “Add” option. After this, select the game from the list and click on “Options”, set it to “high performance” and click on “Save”. Run WWE 2K22 and see if it fixed the issue or not.
Uncheck the controller in Steam controller settings.
In the Steam Client main window, click on “Steam” in the top left corner and click on “Settings”, select the controller tab and click on “general controller settings”. Uncheck all the configuration support and open the game.
Disable/Enable Steam input.
Many controller issues of games have been fixed by enabling/disabling Steam input and we urge you to do the same. Right-click on the game from the Steam Library and click on the controller option.
