What does diff mean in Valorant?

If you play Valorant often, then surely you must have seen the words like “Jett diff”, ” Ez diff” and much more pop in your chatbox. If you are among the many who are confused as to what “diff” means, then don’t worry. In this article, we have answered your question on what diff means in Valorant. So, continue reading till the end.

This term, “diff”, isn’t only exclusive to Valorant, as it is widely used in other similar fps games like Overwatch 2 too. You will need to know this gaming lingo as it is widely used in the community and adds more fun to your game. That said, let’s figure out what “diff” means in the game.

What does diff mean in Valorant?

What does diff mean in Valorant?

Diff simply means difference, and this is more of a taunt than a compliment. You will notice this taunt pop in the chatbox often once the game ends. Most of the time, “diff” is used when there are the same agents on both the attacking and defending teams. For example, if there are two Jetts in a game, the Jett player who performs better than the other will type in the chat “Jett diff”. This will kinda annoy the other Jett in the team and lead the opposite team to lose its chemistry.

Taunts in Valorant are very widely used for annoying the other team by mentioning that your team’s agent is underperforming. This is sort of like blaming the agent on your team for the team’s loss. It isn’t entertained much, as this often leads to demoralizing your team. Also, sometimes this kind of behavior can be seen as toxic too. But it isn’t inevitable because “diff” popping in the chatbox is part of the whole gaming experience.

Well, if you are easily annoyed by “diff” frequently popping up in your chatbox while you’re trying your best then don’t worry. We even have a solution to allow you solely focus on the game and not the chat. You can easily mute the chat box in Valorant. You will need to press ‘Esc’ while you are in a match, then you will be able to notice the list of enemy players marked in red. On each player’s tab, you will notice the Text Chat option. Simply uncheck the boxes to mute the enemy who has been getting on your nerves. This will allow you to not be bothered by any toxic chat messages.

That said, we hope this article helped you understand what “diff” means in Valorant. For more guides similar to this, do visit Digistatement.
