Airship Syndicate’s Wayfinder saw its early access release on August 17, 2023. Since then, it hasn’t been a good time for both players and developers. Server-related issues have plagued the game, resulting in an overwhelmingly negative response from the players. And to add to that, there are some major issues that need to be addressed immediately. The “Auth Session Does Not Exist” error is one such issue.
This error is the result of the currently ongoing server problems. It’s so game-breaking that the developers had to limit player access to the game. Fixes are currently being worked on, but when they will be deployed is something we don’t know yet. Madden NFL 24 also had a similar kind of issue where players encountered an unknown login error, as did Borderlands 3 with its network error. As for the “Auth Session Does Not Exist” error in Wayfinder, let’s find out if there are any workarounds for it too.
Wayfinder Auth Session Does Not Exist Error: Is there any fix yet
For now, players will have to make do with some potential workarounds until Airship Syndicate resolves this issue. Check these out and see if any of them prove effective for you.
Check your internet connection –
Since this is a server-related issue, players are advised to check their internet connection first before trying out other workarounds. Ensure that you have a stable connection and that there are no major interferences. While you are at it, also perform a restart of your router.
Check the server status of the game –
Currently, Wayfinder is going through a major server issue. While the problem is being worked on, we suggest you check the server status frequently. Wayfinder doesn’t really have a dedicated server status website, so your best option here is the official Twitter account of the game.
Switch to Ethernet –
If you are using Wi-Fi to connect to the internet, we recommend that you switch to Ethernet. Doing so will result in an uninterrupted connection, and maybe the issue will be fixed. Also, if you are using VPN to connect to the game servers, make sure to disable it, and then try again.
Restart Wayfinder –
A simple workaround that we suggest is to perform a quick restart of the game. Sometimes all it takes is a restart to deal with an issue. Now, if the issue still remains, try out the next workaround.
Allow Wayfinder to access the internet through the firewall –
Windows Firewall can at times block access to the internet for random apps and games. Fortunately, there’s a way using which you can not only solve this issue but also ensure that the firewall doesn’t do so again. All you need to do is –
- Open Windows Settings and click on Update & Security.
- Next, select Windows Security > Firewall & Network Protection. A new window will open now with a plethora of options to choose from. Ignore all options except the one named – Allow an app through firewall. Click on it.
- In the next window, you will see a list of apps and games. Before we can tinker with those, click on the “Change settings” button located at the top. Next, it will ask you for admin rights. Do so.
- After giving admin privileges, search for Wayfinder in the list. When found, checkmark both Private and Public options. If you are unable to find Wayfinder, click on the “Allow another app” button and add Wayfinder.
- Once you are done with it, click on Apply and OK.
That said, we hope the provided workarounds help you fix this issue in Wayfinder. For more such interesting guides, follow DigiStatement. Also, read: Can you play Wayfinder offline without an internet connection?
