COD Warzone even though has gained a major fan base since it’s launch on March 10, seems to take bouts of criticism regarding their judgement. The season 3 update dropped on April 8 and the free-to-play game saw the addition of Quads playlist much to the joy of players, who have been demanding it for quite some time. But there was a part of the fanbase that was disappointed with the removal of trios from the playlist.
Despite Quads added as a substitute, players raised the question of the logic behind the removal of Trios. They said it doesn’t make sense and the availability of another mode just provides diversity in the game. Fair enough logic. Redditor IWoooooOl said in a post, “WHY would you add Quads, but REMOVE Trios?! We want Solos, Duos, Trios, AND Quads, not just 1 or 2 options. This better not mean Quads will go away eventually or something…I’m not sure why it’s so hard to just leave all of the modes in the game.”
Guys, PLEASE stop removing modes from r/CODWarzone
Though the topic might raise emotional responses, another Redditor GeneralBrothers stated that three modes should be enough “Solos, Duos, and Squads is the right way to do it,” they explained, revealing why they thought Trios playlist isn’t necessary: “you can play a fair game alone or with a friend, and being a squad of 3 in a 4-man squad game is not a big deal.”
Having too many modes might also see a degradation in the matchmaking experience, with longer queue timers and a large skill disparity among players. Having 3 modes might divide the fan bases too much if you think about it. Server capacity might also be a reason why multiple modes may cause connection failures.
Right now the game only has Solos and Quads. It will be difficult for Infinity Ward to find the balance and please everyone. Happy Gaming!
