The Ruined king Viego was disabled from live servers by Riot Games for this game-breaking bug. There was a rise in ranked solo queue players using Viego. Exploiting this bug many rose to the top jumping several ranks at once. Innocent players did not know the bug and lost their ranks to these players. Riot Games disabled Viego to stop this at least. League Of Legends
League of Legends is a huge online multiplayer battle game. In the game, two teams of five players each battle in player versus player combat, each team occupying and defending their own half of the map. Each of the ten players controls a character, known as a “champion”, with unique abilities and differing styles of play. During a match, champions become more powerful by collecting experience points and purchasing items to defeat the opposing team. In the game’s main mode called, Summoner’s Rift, a team wins by pushing through to the enemy base and destroying their “nexus”, a large structure located within it. One such champion had an issue due to this week’s patch and caused a huge ruckus in the League community.
Viego disabled by Riot Games
Viego is a “Champion” used in League of Legends with a very rich backstory. The character was a fan favourite for a while. The new patch in the game caused Viego to get a game-breaking ability. Viego can jump up to an infinite amount of ability power with a Dark Seal. When the champion possesses an enemy with his Sovereign’s Domination (Passive) and dies almost immediately—either to an enemy champion or a turret—he spawns with 65,534 stacks on his Dark Seal. This bumps up his AP for the remainder of the game, making him an unstoppable killing machine. After knowing about this bug, it was heavily exploited in Solo Ranking games. This bug is very easy to recreate. All you have to do is buy a Dark Seal, then get a kill with Viego and transform into the enemy champion and finally die under their tower.
What has Riot done?
After the whole Viego fiasco, Riot has decided to disable Viego from live online servers. They are working on a patch as we speak. We can expect the Ruined king to come back to the game and wreak havoc again and not in a hacky way.
