Disable Overlay apps in the background
Having Overlay apps running in the background can chug a lot of resources and cause various issues in the game. The Callisto Protocol is a demanding game and requires plenty of resources to run so make sure to close overlay apps in the background, including Steam Overlay. Here’s how to disable it.
- Right-click on the game and select “Properties”.
- In the general tab, uncheck the “Enable steam overlay while in-game” option.
If you have other resource-hogging apps running in the background like Discord, Geforce Experience, and NVIDIA Shadowplay, etc., close them all. This will let the game fully utilize the resources of your PC and run smoothly. You can also unplug external devices like controllers, monitors, Logitech wheels, and additional USB devices before launching the game. This might also fix the issue.
