Kylotonn’s eagerly anticipated all-new Test Drive Unlimited finally got an official reveal during the Nancon Connect showcase on July 7th. The new title is going to be called Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.
According to Nancon, TDU Solar Crown will retain the DNA of the series with beautiful cars. The players will compete against each other to elevate their character’s status within the community, it said. They will experience the joy of driving around a luxurious island world recreated at 1:1 scale. The details about the location and gameplay were not revealed. But, TDU fans on Reddit have listed their ideas of a potential location. So, let us take at these potential location ideas. Keep in mind that these are just speculations.
Speculated Locations and Map ideas
One of the fans on Reddit has speculated that the TDU Solar Crown will take place in Canary Islands. These islands are situated in Spain, and are located west of northwestern Africa. Three of the largest islands in Canary Islands are Tenerife, Fuerteventura, and Gran Canaria.
The fan explains why these islands could be the potential locations, by stating that TDU franchise has always featured tropical islands. And the next location should be large enough to be featured with lots of content and details. Test Drive Unlimited 2 featured 2 islands, Oahu and Ibiza that had a combined total surface area of around 2,000 square kilometers. So, logically the next game should have one island with similar surface area. Tenerife, Fuerteventura, and Gran Canaria have similar surface areas as Oahu and Ibiza and they are big enough.
According to the fan, Fuerteventura will be the potential island for TDU Solar Crown. Because this island is similar to Oahu in terms of size. And the mountain range seen in the teaser is similar to the mountain ranges of Fuerteventura. This island also features tunnels, long stretches of road for top speeds, bending roads for drifters, and a good ratio between on-road and off-road driving.
In addition to this, many fans think that Mallorca and Corsica could be the potential locations. We will have to wait and see what will be the official location for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.
