Starfield Trespassing Message Bug: is there any fix yet

Bethesda has yet another great RPG title in its portfolio with the release of Starfield. Despite being an entirely new IP, the game has garnered a huge amount of followers in a short amount of time. However, at the end of the day, Starfield is a Bethesda game. And one thing that the studio is famous for, besides putting out excellent RPGs, is bugs. Starfield is no exception here either. From the Deimos station bug to infinite loading screen issues, there are just too many technical problems in the game. And now, the trespassing message bug has started to annoy players.

We don’t really know what causes this particular bug. But what we do know is that when it surfaces, it simply shows the “You’re currently trespassing” message indefinitely. So, is there a fix for this bug? Let’s find out!

Starfield Trespassing Message Bug: Is there any fix yet

As of now, Bethesda has yet to put out an official fix for this issue. Due to this, players will have to make do with the following workarounds:

Restart –

For some players, restarting was all it took to resolve this issue. As such, we suggest you try this first. Perform a quick restart of the game, and then see if the bug is still there or not. If that doesn’t work, then try restarting your console or PC next.

Dismiss your companion –

This workaround comes courtesy of u/myfatherisRtas. The player was able to bypass this bug by simply dismissing their companion, who was waiting in a restricted zone. So, in case you also brought a companion with you during a quest or while exploring, first check if they are in a restricted area. If yes, then dismiss them immediately. Also, if possible, try going solo if your companion seems to be giving you unnecessary trouble. You can just assign them to the ship and then carry on with your shenanigans.

Get Arrested –

According to Reddit user KitchenTelephone1700, getting yourself arrested is also a quick solution for this problem. For players who are getting arrested for the first time, the game will automatically start the Burden of Proof quest. Subsequent arrests will not do that. When it comes to getting arrested, choose any of the following three options: –

  • Steal items
  • Have contraband on the ship
  • Get violent, i.e., kill or beat someone

Reload save –

For most issues related to Starfield, reloading a previous save is a common workaround. If you have yet to employ this method, then go ahead and do so immediately. Furthermore, from now on, perform manual saves at regular intervals. This will save you a lot of hassle in the future.

Fast travel to your ship –

Reddit user HexedAssassin got around this bug by simply fast-traveling to their home ship. Do the same; however, exit the ship through the hatch. Check if the message is still there.

That said, we hope the provided workarounds help you fix the issue in the game. For more guides and information on Starfield, keep following DigiStatement. Also read: Starfield Revelation Quest Bug: Is there any fix yet
