Now, interestingly, there could be two possible locations for the game’s saved files to appear on your PC. You will have to browse through each path and check where the saved files are located.

MyGames folder

The first path to check is the My Games folder in your C drive. If you don’t know what we are talking about, just follow the steps to get to the saved files for Starfield.

  • Open File Explorer.
  • Navigate to “This PC“.
  • Open your “C Drive“.
  • Go to the “Users” folder.
  • Open the specific username folder (usually your username).
  • Access the “Documents” folder.
  • Locate the “My Games” folder and open it.
  • Inside the “My Games” folder, you’ll find the “Starfield” folder. Open it.
  • To access the saved game files, go into the “Saves” folder.

Note: This is also the location where the config files for the game are located. To access the config file, you can go back to the “Starfield” folder, and you should find a file named “StarfieldPreferences.ini”.

App Data Folder

If you couldn’t locate your saved game files for Starfield using the default path mentioned earlier (Documents\My Games\Starfield\Saves), you can try checking the App Data and Local folders for the saved files. Follow the steps given below to visit this directory:

  • Open File Explorer and head to the C: drive.
  • Here, you will have to open the “Users” folder.
  • In this folder, look for and open the folder with your user account’s name.
  • Next, locate and open the “AppData” folder.
  • Within the “AppData” folder, find and open the “Local” folder.
  • In the “Local” folder, you should see a folder named “Starfield”. Open this folder, and you should find another folder named “Saved.”
  • Finally, within the “Saved” folder, look for a folder named “Savegames”. This is where your Starfield save game files may be located.

Some players have reported finding their saved game files in this directory. Be sure to replace “Username” with your actual Windows username when navigating to this path. This alternative path might help you access your save game files in case they aren’t located in the Documents directory.
