Cheats are a godsend when certain tasks become tedious in games. And Sims 4 players know how unexciting the game can be at particular times. Thankfully, Maxis allows cheats to be used in Sims 4, which a lot of players don’t shy away from using. Among the plethora of cheats, there are weather-related cheats, which, as the name suggests, can be used to alter or modify weather in-game. But it just so happens that some in the community are facing issues with those cheats.
We don’t really know what’s the reason behind weather cheats not working properly in Sims 4. Some believe it’s due to not entering them correctly, while others are of the opinion that it’s due to game file issues. Nevertheless, we are here to fix this issue, and this guide will help with that. So, without further ado, let’s see how you can fix the weather cheats not working issue in Sims 4.
Sims 4 Weather cheats not working: How to fix it
Players are recommended to try the workarounds mentioned below and find out which one of them provides a helpful result. Follow them thoroughly, and hopefully, the issue will be fixed.
Restart –
First of all, what you have to do is restart the game. Sometimes a game glitch can result in cheats not working, and restarting usually fixes that. So, try the restart method first, and if the issue persists, try another workaround.
Type in cheats manually–
Don’t try to copy-paste the weather cheats. Instead, enter the cheats manually. However, if you’ve already been doing that, and still encountering issues, check out the next fix.
Make sure you have set testingCheats to true –
Another basic thing you should keep in mind is that you need to have testingCheats enabled in-game. If it’s disabled, you will not be able to use cheats. So, after you have pressed the designated buttons or keys to bring up the console command, type in testingCheats true or testingCheats on and hit enter. Now, enter the weather cheat and check whether it works.
Repair game files –
Players can also try repairing the game files to make the cheats work. As for how to do that, all you need to do is:
EA Desktop App
- Launch the EA Desktop App and click on My Collection.
- Now find Sims 4 in there. Once you do, click on the three dots, and then choose Repair.
Epic
- Launch the Epic Games Launcher and click on Library from the left panel.
- After that, click on the three dots on Sims 4 and select Manage > Verify.
Steam
- Start Steam and click on Library.
- Find Sims 4 and right-click on it.
- Select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
Enter cheats in live mode –
Certain cheats don’t tend to work in build mode or when you are in the managed world. The only mode they will work in is live mode. So, switch to live mode and then enter the weather cheats in-game. Hopefully, this time, the issue will no longer exist.
