Sometimes, no matter how much you love a game, it can get tedious after a while. That’s why cheats exist—so that you can complete certain things just by pressing a few keys. Sims 4 too has many cheats that players can use to do a variety of things, ranging from changing weather to getting an obscene amount of Simoleons. The latter is a very regular and popular choice among many players. And the Motherlode cheat is how the players do it. However, it seems like many are finding it tough to use this particular cheat due to a myriad of issues.
There have been instances where players would type in the cheat and it wouldn’t work at all. Furthermore, there are also reports of players who will be in build mode, and after typing in Motherlode, it just results in nothing. Now, we can’t really say what’s the cause behind this, but what we know is that this issue needs to be fixed. So, is there any fix for it? Continue reading to find out!
Sims 4 Motherlode Cheat not working: How to fix it?
Follow the workarounds mentioned below and see if any of them are of help to you. Try to follow them thoroughly, and make sure not to skip any.
Restart –
The first thing that we recommend you do is restart the game. This is a good way to know if this is just a one-off issue or something more serious. If the latter is true in your case, switch to other workarounds.
Get out of build mode –
If you are trying to use the Motherlode cheat in build mode, it’s highly recommended that you get out of it first, enter live mode, and then use the cheat. Certain cheats don’t work in build mode, and that includes the Motherlode cheat too. So, do as we stated earlier, and you will get your 50K Simoleons.
Get in an active household –
As mentioned here, for the Motherlode cheat to work in Sims 4, you need to make sure that you are in an active household and not in Manage Worlds. So, from now on, whenever you want to use this cheat, switch to an active household and then only type in the cheat.
Enter cheats manually –
Copy-pasting cheats sometimes lead to issues like this. You need to enter the cheat manually for the Motherlode or any other cheat to do its intended work in-game. So, do that and find out if you get the money or not.
Verify game files –
You can also try doing a verification of the game files to see if that provides any kind of helpful results. Now, if you happen to be new to this, here’s how the process for verifying game files is.
Steam
- Open Steam and then click on Library.
- Next, right-click on the game and select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
- After the verification process is over, restart the PC and then launch the game.
Epic
- Launch the Epic Games Launcher and select Library from the left panel.
- Find Sims 4, and click on the three dots on the game tile. Next, select Manage > Verify.
EA Desktop
- Start the EA Desktop App and select My Collection.
- Click on the three dots on Sims 4, and choose Repair.
Use other cheats –
If you are still unable to use the Motherlode cheat, we recommend using other money cheats. “kaching” gets you 1000 simoleons, while typing in Money [simoleons amount] will alter the simoleon balance to the specific number. This is more of an alternative, so use it until you get the Motherlode cheat to work.
