RuneScape Dragonwilds Disable FogBloomLens Flare How to do it

You must be playing through RuneScape Dragonwilds and loving it! But while the world looks stunning, some players are finding that the cinematic effects like fog, bloom, and lens flare can be a little too much. Whether it’s hurting visibility or just frying your eyes after a long session, many are looking for ways to tone it down. If you’re one of those players who’d rather see the world than squint through a shiny blur, here’s how to disable or tweak those intense post-processing effects.

While there aren’t always in-game toggles for advanced visual effects in Dragonwilds, the good news is that many of them can be adjusted or disabled by diving into the game’s config files. These settings are tucked away in your system’s local files and give you more granular control over how the game renders certain effects. It’s a bit of a manual process, but for players who want a cleaner, more performance-friendly experience, it’s well worth the quick setup.

Below, we’ve listed the exact location of the config files you’ll need to access, along with the specific tweaks you can make to disable visual effects like fog, bloom, and lens flare. It’s an effortless process: just a bit of digging and a few edits, and it can help clean up the visuals or give your system a break if you’re chasing more frames.

How to disable Fog/Bloom/Lens Flare

Here’s a step-by-step guide to disabling fog, bloom, lens flare, and other visual effects in RuneScape: Dragonwilds using the config file method. First of all, you will have to locate the config file. To do this, navigate to the Config Folder or Open File Explorer and go to: “C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\Config\Windows”. If you don’t see the AppData folder, enable hidden folders via the View tab in File Explorer. Just click on the “View” tab at the top of File Explorer and check the box for “Hidden items” to make it visible. After this, look for and search for the Engine.ini file and open it. Right-click it and open it with a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++. Add These Lines at the Bottom: Paste the following block under the [ /script/engine. renderersettings ] section (or create it if it doesn’t exist):

  • [/script/engine.renderersettings]
    r.Upscale.Quality=0
    r.Upscale.Softness=0
    r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=0.5
    r.TextureStreaming=0
    r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
    r.BloomQuality=0
    r.FilmGrain=0
    r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
    r.DisableDistortion=1
    r.Tonemapper.Quality=0
    r.LensFlareQuality=0
    r.Fog=0
    r.VolumetricFog=0

With the changes made, hit Save in your text editor to save the file. The key thing to remember here is to set the File to Read-Only. Just right-click Engine.ini and select Properties. Check the box that says Read-only, then click Apply and OK. This will prevent the game from overwriting your changes. Finally, you can launch Dragonwilds, and all those annoying post-processing effects should now be disabled. You can now enjoy the cleaner, effect-free visuals!

And there you have it; you should now be able to disable Fog, Bloom and Lens Flare without much hassle. We hope this was helpful and for more helpful gaming content, do not forget to bookmark DigiStatement. Also, if you are confused about how to smelt ores in the game, click here to find out.
