Hopoo Games is back with the remaster of the game that started it all—Risk of Rain. Simply titled Risk of Rain Returns, the game got its official release on November 9, 2023, and is now available for both Windows and Nintendo Switch. There are new skills to master, new items to find, and the biggest of them all, a brand-new survivor to unlock. And there are some pretty great achievements in-game that you can unlock. In this guide, we have shared details on how to complete the Pre-Alpha Achievement in Risk of Rain Returns. Here’s everything you need to know.
Risk of Rain had only about 15 achievements. Risk of Rain Returns, on the other hand, has over 150. It is a very big jump from the original one and is most certainly a welcome addition to the game. Completionists will especially love this, and many are already on their journey to unlock every single achievement. But there are certain achievements that are acting as a roadblock to fully finishing them all. The Pre-Alpha achievement is a major one. Don’t worry, though! By the end of this guide, you will learn everything there’s to know about this achievement and hopefully complete it.
Risk of Rain Returns (RoRR) Pre-Alpha Achievement: How to unlock it
As stated earlier, there are a total of one hundred and fifty-five (155) achievements in the game, and Pre-Alpha is one of them. And a pretty hard one at that. While most other achievements have a pretty clear condition, the one with Pre-Alpha doesn’t. It just says: Find this item hidden somewhere in the world to unlock it. As you can see, players need to find a secret item somewhere in the world, and only then will they be able to complete this achievement. But what’s this mysterious item? Well, it happens to be the Mu Construct.
Many players have gotten the item while exploring the Desolate Forest, but there are some who got it on other maps as well. If you are in Desolate Forest, keep exploring near the edges of the map, and eventually, you will come across two statues. These statues resemble deer of sorts, so you wouldn’t have much trouble discerning them.
Approach those statues, and you will realize that you can move through them. So do that, and you will get your hands on the Mu Construct, marking the completion of the Pre-Alpha achievement. From now on, the Mu Construct has a chance to appear during future runs, and if you equip it, the item will heal your character by 2.5% of the survivor’s maximum health every five seconds. However, this passive will only come into effect after you’ve activated your current level’s teleporter.
Now, if you don’t find the Mu Construct in Desolate Forest, don’t worry. Keep exploring other maps and keep an eye out for anything that might seem out of place. Sooner or later, you will locate the item and complete the achievement.
