Redmi Note 7 gets official TWRP support [Download links inside]

The world of rooting and custom developments has become larger than ever. Its domain has now become as vast as any other profound technology out there. A huge number of developers have been working in this community to bring many amazing custom developments. Thanks to them, we now have a lot of custom ROMs, feature MODs, ability to tweak our smartphones and overclock it easily. There is also a lot of other cool stuff that is now possible. The official TWRP has also lately been working to add support for a lot of other devices as well. A while ago, we saw some devices like the Galaxy Note 9 getting the official TWRP support as well. Well, it seems like things are not done yet for them, They continue to add support to a lot of other devices.

Well, recently they have added support for a couple of devices including the Redmi Note 7. The device codenamed lavender wasn’t earlier supported officially. Well, the good news is now it does. The official TWRP builds are now available on the official TWRP site. These days porting TWRP to devices that come with Android 10 out of the box has become quite tedious. This is because of the dynamically resizable partitions that were introduced with Android 10. However, devices that came initially with earlier versions of Android and got updates to Android 10 later are not affected by this.

Redmi Note 7 is one of the best value for money smartphones from Xiaomi. The device came back in early 2019 and is still one of the best affordable devices in the market. It comes with the mid-range Qualcomm SDM660 Snapdragon 660 processor. The device already had support for a lot of custom recoveries, including the unofficial TWRP builds. There are also a bunch of custom ROMs available for the device. Well, now that the official TWRP is available for the device, you can start flashing them all.

Before flashing the TWRP file, make sure to take care of these few things given below to ensure you don’t come across any troublesome situation.

• Make sure your bootloader is unlocked.
• Make sure your device is charged to at least 60% before proceeding with the flashing process.
• Backup your data is you wish to retain something that is important. While flashing the recovery won’t wipe your data partition, it’s always better to remain on the safer side.
