Redfall Keyboard & Mouse not working on Xbox Series X/S issue: Is there any fix yet

Redfall is the latest video game title to come out from the makers behind the Dishonored series – Arkane Studios. It was one of the many AAA games that are slated to release on the Xbox platform thanks to the Zenimax acquisition by Xbox. The game opened its servers on May 2, after being delayed once. Developed by Arkane Austin and published by Bethesda Softworks on the Xbox Series X/S and Windows, Redfall is an open-world co-op FPS title where you fight against vampires and cultists. Does this sound fun? Yeah, it does, but before you dive into the world, keep yourself prepared to encounter some bugs and issues. Well, there are reports of issues in the game where the keyboard and mouse are not working on Xbox consoles while playing Redfall. In this guide, we will be discussing the same and share workarounds for it, if they exist.

Consoles aren’t typically associated with a keyboard and mouse as their preferred method of input in games. A controller is what would usually come to anyone’s mind whenever they think about a console. But there are certain subsets of people who like to a use keyboard and mouse. And let’s be honest. Certain games, particularly FPS, are better suited for k&m instead of a controller. Xbox started supporting k&m from the previous console lineup in 2018. However, Xbox enabling k&m support is just 50% of the whole process. Game developers need to implement k&m features in their games too. So, why are the keyboard and mouse not working for Redfall on Xbox? Did the devs opt not to implement k&m support for the console version of the game? Let’s find out.

The reason why keyboard and mouse inputs don’t work while playing Redfall on Xbox is that the game doesn’t support them. Bethesda Support itself confirmed this fact. However, you wouldn’t be at fault for assuming that the game had support for k&m on consoles. The Xbox Store page did confirm that there would be keyboard and mouse support previously, but it has been delayed along with 60 fps support for the game on Xbox Series X/S.

So, as you can see, there’s no fix for this issue because the keyboard and mouse themselves aren’t supported at the moment. On the official Xbox Store page of the game, you will notice that there’s no keyboard and mouse support or even 60 FPS support in the capabilities section. Games that do have such a capability include “Console Keyboard & Mouse” in the same section to let the players know whether it supports k&m or not.

Now, we can’t really give you a guarantee as to when Arkane will make this feature available. However, it is more likely that it will be available once the performance mode is rolled out, which will also feature 60FPS gameplay. As of now, all you can do is either take the wait-and-see approach or play the game using a controller on your Xbox console. You can follow the official Redfall Twitter page to know about upcoming content and patches for the game. And don’t forget to bookmark us to get the latest on gaming.
