When it comes to online tactical FPS games, Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege is one of the most popular titles in the genre. Released back in 2015, the game continues to receive active support from Ubisoft, so much so that the Steam version alone saw a 24-hour peak of about 156,098 players at the time of writing this (data sourced from Steam Charts). Players are currently enjoying the latest major update, Operation Deadly Omen, which added a lot of new content and gameplay improvements. And just like in previous updates, players are currently facing an issue with ranked matches.
As we stated before, this issue with ranked matches has happened before. Now, we don’t really know what’s mainly causing this issue. Anything from non-operational servers to something else could be the cause here. Such a major issue needs to be resolved quickly, so let’s go ahead and find out if there are any fixes for it.
Rainbow Six Siege ranked not working: How to fix it
Ubisoft has been aware of this issue and is actively monitoring it. You can also try the following workarounds and see if any of them are of help until an official fix is released:
Restart –
First, try the restart method. Just restart the game as recommended by Ubisoft and then try joining a ranked match. If you are able to then enjoy the game, but if the issue still persists, then switch to another workaround.
Check server status –
We also suggest that you check the game’s server status. Non-operational servers can also be a cause here and as such, you should check their availability. You can click here to find out the current server status of the game. If the servers are down, consider waiting for some time.
Go into the Operator menu and select “Management & Customization” –
Yes, this is a pretty strange workaround but it’s worked for players in the first place, so you can give it a try. As explained by u/ButterscotchEasy, what you need to do is, when your party leader starts searching for ranked matches, you and the party members need to switch to the Operator Menu. Next, select “Management & Customization” and then choose either loadout or appearance. Stay in there until a ranked match is found.
Check your internet connection –
We also recommend that players check their internet connection. Make sure that there are no major interferences and that the speed is good enough. To add to that, you can also try restarting your router and even resetting it. If this doesn’t help, switch to another workaround.
Disable VPN –
For players using a VPN, we suggest that you disable it and then launch the game. While certainly useful, VPNs can also slow down your internet speed, which can also lead to this issue. You can enable it again after you are done playing the game.
Well, that’s all the workarounds we have for this. Additionally, you can also take a quick look here if you are facing issues with challenges in the game. And for more such content, keep following DigiStatement. Also read: Rainbow Six Siege error code 3-0x0001000b: Fixes & Workarounds
