The simulation genre continues to get new additions and the latest one happens to be Nokta Games’ Supermarket Simulator. The game entered early access just recently, on February 20, 2024, and so far, the reception to it has been pretty positive. Nokta has stated that they plan to “release the full game within 12 months.” Now, like any other early access title, Supermarket Simulator too has a load of issues currently affecting it. And just recently, players have complained about an issue where the game keeps freezing after downloading the storage update.
It seems like the freeze occurs randomly. Some experience it after launching the game, while for others it’s when there are customers or during other tasks. So, is there a fix for this issue? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
Supermarket Simulator freezing more often with new update: How to fix it?
Players can use the following workarounds to deal with this issue. Try these and see if any of them are of help.
Restart –
The very first thing that we recommend you do is restart the game. If that doesn’t help, you can restart your PC too. Restarting is a pretty common method of dealing with issues like this one so start with it. In case this doesn’t work, switch to another workaround.
Repair the game files –
Players can also try verifying and repairing the game files to resolve this issue. Issues like this one can also occur due to missing or corrupted game files and as such, they can only be fixed by using this particular method. To do this, you need to:
- Open Steam and navigate to Steam Library.
- Find the Supermarket Simulator and right-click on it.
- Select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
Run the game on Dedicated GPU –
Another cause behind this issue could be that the game isn’t running on your system’s dedicated GPU at all. Fortunately, you can manually do that. Just open Windows Settings and head to Display > Graphics. Find Supermarket Simulator in the list below and if it isn’t there, click on Browse and add the game. Now, click on the game and select Options. From the three options presented, select High Performance and click on Save.
Update –
Make sure that your system’s GPU drivers are updated to the latest version available. Outdated drivers can also serve as a probable cause for this issue, so updating them should help. And while you are at it, you should also update Windows, if there’s an update available for it. Nokta released a new update on 14 March 2024 which added some new stuff to the game and addressed a few issues. As such, we suggest that you download and install this latest update and then see if the issue persists.
Run the game on lower graphics –
If you happen to be running the game on the highest graphics, we recommend that you lower the settings. Additionally, you can also try using DirectX 11 to run the game if you want by using -dx11 as the launch command in Launch Options.
Reinstall –
In case the issue still persists, we suggest that you reinstall the Supermarket Simulator. The reinstalling method can work out at times, so give it a try.
