Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (SV): How to Check EVs?

We do have to agree that there are a plethora of in-game elements that make the newest Pokemon entries worth the time and effort. From catching new Pokemon to including a variety of EV stats, players can have a personalized experience while playing Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Seeing all this, the fans are already excited to play the game even more so. With all of this said, let us take a detailed look at what EVs are, what is their use, and how to check EVs in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

To start it simply, EV in the game is the short form for Effort Value. This stat will determine how much and which stat your pokemon will gain after leveling up after a battle with a certain pokemon. Your Pokemon’s EV increases as it battles other pokemon and levels up. There are various items in the game that can be equipped on a pokemon to increase a particular EV stat, but how will you know which stat to increase if you don’t know how to check? Well, for that, we have featured this guide.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (SV): How to Check EVs?

To check for your Pokemon’s EV is simple. First, head over to the summary page of your current Pokemon by pressing the X button. From there, head to the second tab where all the stats like Attack, Sp. Atc, HP, And Defence are shown on the radar graph. While on this graph, you need to now press the L button to show you just how much EV your Pokemon has gained in each stat. When you will check EVs “per stat”, the radar graph will be turned dark yellow. However, an exact metric for EVs is not provided in the games. Well, this is how you check EVs for a particular pokemon in the game but there is also something else to consider. Read along.

The first thing to keep in mind is that the Pokemon which have no EVs will have a dark yellow colored Hexagon. This means that if you are seeing a dark yellow Hexagon on the radar graph, your Pokemon doesn’t have any EVs, right now. For instance, if you catch a new Pokemon or even hatch a new one, they might not have any EVs. This is normal and over time, you will earn EVs as you battle other pokemon with it. With this said, we hope this guide was able to provide all the information you needed. Keep following Digistatement for more.
