How to breed Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?
In this piece, we’ll try to break down breeding in simpler terms and what requirements you need to fulfill to make it successful. Without further ado, let’s dive into the process.
The first thing you need to start breeding pokemon is to unlock the Picnic ability. If you play the game for around 1 or 2 hours, the ability will be unlocked at some point in your progression. Once you have that, the next thing you’re gonna need is to unlock the Jam Sandwich Recipe. You’ll get it automatically once you have unlocked Picnic and have the necessary ingredients. So craft the sandwich and you’ll get an ability called Egg Power that’ll help your Pokemon to lay eggs. Or you can head to the restaurant in Medali and order the Compote Du Fils dish. This provides the Level 2 Egg Power ability, so you have a better chance of getting eggs.
After Egg Power is enabled, you have to get two compatible pokemon of the opposite gender and of the same type or ditto in your party to start the process. Just wait for three to five minutes after hosting the picnic to get an egg. You can stack it to a maximum of 6 eggs. The higher the level of Egg Power, the more the chances of you getting multiple eggs via one breeding session. To access the eggs, simply go to your Picnic basket to peek inside and you will get a prompt to take the egg with you. Just select Yes, and it will be transferred to your bag.
