Samsung S20 Fix
As reported, it appears this is fixed on the S20. They must have had to implement a super fancy fix just for Samsung.
As we found in the texts, the Wayfarer Badge has been added to this update.
Remote Raid Pass Added
The three packs of Remote Raid Passes have been added in this update. Check them out here!
Remote Raid Updates Including Inviting
Tons of updates regarding Remote Raiding has been added, including inviting friends. Looks like remote raiding is ready to go and friend inviting seems close.
As announced, there will be a limit to how many passes you can carry. There is also a toggle for the feature so they can release it when the update is finished rolling out.
There will be a separate level requirement for both participating in a remote raid AND inviting people for a remote raid.
Invite code was added, including a limit to how many friends you can invite. Based on it being called invites and not invite, it’s safe to assume you will get more than one invite per raid.
You can also invite in person vs remotely, perhaps as an easier way to join private lobbies so that’s a nice QOL upgrade.
Remote raids can reward additional XP. This might not be used right away, and maybe only once Remote Raid passes go to their normal price of whatever that is to try to encourage people to spend the extra money on them (that’s just my guess though).
Ability to set the remote damage… Remotely haha.
Some flags and inviting statuses. Also flags how you entered the raid. What’s interesting though is you’ll get a push notification when you are invited to a remote raid.
Some possible errors you can get. Past cut off time is interesting, does that mean you can’t do 24/7 raiding with friends in other time zones?
Some snippets of the actual joining process and the animation for the remote pass being used.
Tutorial for the first time you do a remote raid.
Remote raiding will have a different background on the button like shown off (background gradients for this was also added in this update).
Remote Buddy Gifting
Buddy gifting is coming like announced and more code was added to support that this time around. In parts of the code it’s called remote gifts and other it’s called social gifts. We are thinking it’s the same thing?
A toggle for enabling the feature.
Buddy gifts appear to count towards a different pool than your regular gifts which is nice.
Some possible errors.
And a tutorial for this one too.
Buddy notifications appear to try to clean up after themselves and try to close themselves early. Maybe to try to make sure the notifications appear smoothly?
You will get notified when your buddy brings you a remote gift.
As we found in the texts, POI Scanning is coming to the game. This update adds the code for that, with the above being the process and menu items.
A lot of code was added about uploading video once the scan was complete. This is just an example.
As we also found in the text before, ads are coming to the game. These will most likely be for sponsored stops, but they will track how long you look at them, if you took a screenshot, if you clicked on them, and have an option for a fullscreen add.
A new quest type for walking specifically has been added.
Limited Purchase Boxes
Limited Purchases (like Shop Boxes) now have fields for time so they can probably expire on their own now instead of needing to be ‘removed’ from the game manually
