Pocket Pair’s Palworld is one of the biggest surprises of 2024. Just in a matter of three days, the game has sold over 5 million copies, an incredible number that nobody would’ve imagined back in 2021 when the game was announced. Right now, the game is available as an early-access title for PC and Xbox consoles. And like any other early-access game, it has its own fair share of issues. A major one of which happens to be the no sound and audio issue in the game pass version of Palworld.
Out of all the video game subscriptions available these days, Xbox’s GamePass is considered the most successful one. Boasting a diverse library of great games, along with some Day 1 releases, GamePass is something a lot of players seem to enjoy. Palworld also happens to be one of the many games available on the service, but this audio issue is making it quite annoying to play for many. So, are there any workarounds for it? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
Palworld no sound & audio issue in gamepass version: How to fix it
The following workarounds will help you deal with this issue:
Restart system –
The primary solution to this issue is to just restart your system and try again. Any temporary glitch can be resolved once the system is restarted, leading to this issue getting fixed.
Wait for new updates –
In case you didn’t know, the GamePass version of the game is a little behind on updates. As such, we highly recommend that you wait for Pocket Pair to release newer updates. So, when a new one becomes available, make sure to download and install it. Additionally, you can also try some other workarounds in the meantime.
Switch to the Steam version –
This is more of an alternative than an outright fix. Basically, if you are willing to buy the game on Steam, go ahead and do so. You will not get any audio issues in the Steam version like the GamePass one, so use this method if you like. And if you want to transfer your Gamepass progress to Steam, consider reading this guide.
Use headphones –
Players can also try using headphones, as sometimes external audio might not work properly. Additionally, you should also make sure that the audio isn’t on mute. Check that both in-game and on your PC.
Repair –
Repairing the game can also help with this issue, so give it a try. For this one, all you need to do is open the Xbox app for Windows and head to My Library. Select Palworld from there and click on Manage options > Manage > Files > Verify and repair.
Redownload –
If none of the aforementioned workarounds are of help, try redownloading the game. Just uninstall it from your PC and then start a new download. Once it’s installed, launch the game and see if the issue continues.
As we stated before, the best fix here is to wait for the new update to be released. Pocket Pair has already submitted a patch to Xbox for a myriad of issues, including this one, and is now awaiting Microsoft certification. Once the certification is passed, the update should be live, and you will be able to download and install it.
Once the update is released, you will most likely not face any audio issues. Well, that’s the extent of our knowledge on this topic. By the way, here’s a guide if you want to know where the game’s save files are located on your PC. And for more such guides, keep following DigiStatement.
