Inflexion Games’ latest title, Nightingale, seems to be doing well despite all the myriad of issues plaguing it. At the time of publishing this, the game saw a 24-hour peak of about 37,239 players (data sourced from Steam Charts). That’s quite a respectable number, to say the least. While players seem to be enjoying Nightingale, there are a lot of issues with it that need to be resolved ASAP. And a major one happens to be the portal not opening issue.
The reason it’s such a major issue is because it’s only after opening the portal that players get to enjoy the real game. Before that, it’s all tutorial and nothing else. Plus, if you want to play the game with your friends, then you need to cross this tutorial portal. So, is there any fix for this issue? Well, let’s go ahead and find out!
Nightingale Portal not opening issue troubling players: Is there any fix yet?
Players can use the following workarounds to deal with this issue. Try these and see if any of them are of help.
Restart –
Well, before you try out other fixes, we highly recommend that you use the restart method. At times, a simple restart of the game is enough to resolve issues like this one, so start with it. However, if this isn’t of help, try out other workarounds.
Create a new character –
Some players have suggested creating a new character in order to deal with this issue. So, if you are fine with starting an entirely new character, then go ahead and try this. But we also know it can be very annoying to create a new character every time you get stuck, so if you don’t want to use this fix, then switch to another method.
Have your friend send you an invite –
A much easier fix for this issue is to have your friend send you an invite while you are standing near or in front of the portal. Now, this wouldn’t let them or you join, but what it will do is reset the portal. Now, this might or might not work at first, so give it another try if you want.
Reset Realm –
A player was able to get around this issue by using the reset Realm option. So, if you haven’t tried this yet, you should do so. To do that, you can just interact with the portal machine and input realm cards. Select the Reset Realm option at the bottom left of the screen and that should fix this issue. Additionally, some players also had success dealing with this issue by not adding new cards, exiting the game, and then adding in new cards after starting Nightingale once again.
Check servers –
This issue could also be the result of the Nightingale servers being under maintenance or facing outages. As such, what we recommend you do is visit the official Nightingale Twitter account and see if the developers have posted anything server-related. In case the servers are down, just wait until they come back online and enjoy the game. If that isn’t the case, check the next method.
Do not aggro the mobs near the portal –
You can also try this method, where first you need to ensure that everything on you is repaired and not kill anything else besides the mobs near the portal. Once you are near the portal, climb up to the structure close to it before the mobs start spawning. After the first wave of mobs has finished spawning, start killing them. Some have had their portals open after the second wave, while others had to clear the third wave. So, keep clearing waves, and the moment the portal opens, rush into it.
Check your internet connection –
Make sure that your internet connection is good and that there are no major interferences. If using Wi-Fi, switch to Ethernet. Besides this, you can also try resetting and restarting your router to see if that helps too.
