Inflexion Games’ Nightingale was just recently released on February 20, 2024, as an early-access open-world survival and crafting title on Steam. Reception for the game so far has been pretty mixed. While a lot of players do like the visuals, exploration, and survival aspects of Nightingale, its myriad of technical issues along with combat and progression elements seem to be a big miss. All in all, Nightingale is a flawed but enjoyable title and further improvements down the line are sure to help make it a great game. And a particularly major improvement that many want to see is the addition of new server regions, especially for Australia.
Usually, multiplayer developers have four or five server regions: NA, EU, Asia, and Oceania. This can be later expanded into more regions if there’s a need for it. At the time of its launch, Nightingale servers had only three servers – EU, NA, and SE Asia. And as expected, it was a high-ping nightmare for players from Australia and other nearby regions to play and enjoy the game. Ever since then, players have been asking for an Australian server. So, when are the developers planning to add another new server region? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
Nightingale Australian server requested by fans: Is it coming soon?
Australian servers aren’t coming soon but in fact, they already are. On February 26, 2024, developer Inflexion Games finally added Oceania servers to the game, which serves Australia, New Zealand, and other nearby regions. Do note that if you want to join in on this new server, you will have to create an entirely new character. This is mainly because players can’t transfer a pre-existing character to a new region right now. That feature will be added in a later update, as stated by the developers:
“(the ability to transfer preexisting characters to the new region will be available in a future game update).”
Now that new Oceania servers have finally been added to Nightingale, the only other server region that’s left is South America. And that’s currently being worked on, as mentioned by Inflexion:
“At the moment, we are still working on getting servers up and running in South America so we will keep you posted when we have further news on that.”
So, Oceania players, we highly recommend that you join the new servers and create a new character. While you can certainly wait for the character transfer feature to arrive in a future update, it’s unclear when that will be happening. It could be the next patch or several patches later. All in all, if you want a seamless and enjoyable play session, go with the former plan. And we will be sure to let you know when the developers finally introduce the character transfer feature into the game.
Well, that’s all the information we have on this right now. You can also take a quick look here if you want to know whether the game supports HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS.
