Nearly 5 years after the acclaimed Arkham Knight bestowed one of the best versions of the Dark Knight upon us, fans have been waiting for a new game, and it was finally all good news until all hell broke loose once again.
A journalist had revealed earlier in February that Warner Bros will be holding a press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3. That would have been the first for WB, but the E3 itself got canceled in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Warner Bros was rumored to be revealing the Batman game and a new Harry Potter game.
On Twitter, Kotaku’s Jason Schreier had revealed prior to E3 that Warner Bros is planning the conference to announce the upcoming games,, and it would have been a first for them at such a large scale event.
More news from me: Warner Bros. Games was planning to do an E3 press conference this year for the first time, to talk about Batman, Harry Potter, and Rocksteady’s game among others. Remains to be seen what they’ll do now https://t.co/OIry5zgB6p

Warner Bros has been very inactive for the last 5 years, keeping the development tight under the ropes and giving the fans limited information & once in a blue moon, a very vague teaser. Fans have been anticipating for an official word while the hype was reaching fever pitch but publisher’s plans have been put into the ground because of the cancellation of E3. The teasers also provide next to nothing about the game itself, while off the mill rumors state that the game will be a ‘soft reboot’ of the beloved Arkhamverse and will be made more DC Universe centric somehow incorporating Court of Owls and the Batfamily but all of this information comes from unverified sources.
We are hopeful that the publishers are going to look at avenues for a new announcement and release an official word. Schreier’s tweets also teased a possible live stream release, something like what Apple does, that would be a treat to watch. Another touchy topic would be a delay in any news regarding Batman, fans have waited long enough for at least an expected release date and development road map, but WB has been tacky about the situation. E3 was going to be held on June 9th, 2020, and we can expect some words by that time about the game. A 2020 release for the new Batman game seems unlikely, though. We will keep you in the loop on everything!
