Monster Hunter Rise is the newest Monster Hunter game to hit the market. Available on both PC and Nintendo Switch, the game revolves around you battling and defeating monsters to progress the main quests. It received its first DLC in the way of Sunbreak which was released late in June this year. Now, a few months after the DLC release, there has been an update with new content being added for the DLC. In this article, we are going to be taking a look at Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Free Title Update 1 includes new monsters, new locales, new event quests & more.
Monster Hunter Rise is a game that takes combat, stats, and player building seriously. In order to do this, you need to pay attention to the armor, weapon, and monsters you are fighting. Each monster has a weakness and a resistance to certain weapon types. Some of the best ways to get new and advanced weapons and weapon types are through events and challenges. These will often give you the resources or the opportunity to acquire resources to craft new weapon types and weapons. They all tie in together to make for a cohesive and well-polished game.

This update has brought with it 4 new monsters, a lot of new challenges, and some new layered armor which has to be bought separately. The new monsters featured in this update are as follows-
- Lucent Narcaguca,
- Seething Bazelgeuse,
- Golden Rathian, and
- Silver Rathalos.
These new Monster Variants are different from the anomaly variants which were added with the Sunbreak DLC. These variants will require new strategies to defeat and will have slightly different from their base counterparts. Additionally, there is also a new locale in-game in the form of the Forlorn Arena.
There will also be weekly challenges from the 18th of August. These challenges will likely provide exclusive rewards like layered armor. These rewards will likely be acquired only after extreme challenges such as taking on multiple variants of the same monsters together.
The DLC also brings with it a rework to the Anomaly system which was introduced with the previous DLC. In this update, you have to fight and defeat the affected monsters for rewards and to unlock upgrades for your weapons and armor. Finally, the DLC brings the regular bug fixes and QoL changes to the game that we have come to expect. For more details on the update’s patch notes, head here.
