Cause of error in Minecraft?
Online multiplayer games tend to run into issues from time to time after new updates so it’s nothing new for players who deal with this on a frequent basis. But, if you’re new to Minecraft and have trouble logging into the game, that’s where our article comes in that’ll help you fix the 0x87DD0013 error and let you play the game. With that being said, try out the fixes mentioned below in the article and see which one works out better for you.
How to fix the 0x87DD0013 error and unable to launch error.
If you’re greeted with the 0x87DD0013 error message that says we couldn’t sign you in Xbox Live, don’t panic as it can be resolved easily as long as you follow the steps correctly below.
Restart your PC.
Most of the issues of a game often get resolved when you restart your PC. So click on the power icon and click on Restart. When the system reboots, open the Minecraft launcher and try to log in.
Repair/Reset Minecraft Launcher/Xbox App and Store.
Another thing that you can try to fix the 0x87DD0013 error is by resetting the Minecraft launcher, Xbox app, and Microsoft Store. Here’s how you can do so.
In the windows search box, type “Minecraft Launcher” and right-click on the app. Then, click on “app settings”. Scroll down until you find the Terminate and Reset options. Now, click on Terminate and then click on Repair. Let the repair complete and try launching the game. If it still doesn’t fix the issue, click on the Reset option and then open the game. Repeat the same thing with the Xbox Live app and Microsoft Store app using the same method mentioned for the Minecraft launcher.
Run WSRESET command.
To run this, type “wsreset” in the windows search box and click on the WSRESET command. It will open a black screen, so wait for some time until it disappears. Now, open the Microsoft Store and then launch the Minecraft launcher to log in.
Close Minecraft launcher, logout login with the same account on Microsoft Store.
Once you open the Microsoft Store, on the top right side of the screen, you’ll see a profile icon. Click on it and sign out, and then click on sign in. This will log you back in using your correct account. Once you have logged in, open the Minecraft Launcher and check if the error persists.
Make sure Date, Time Zone, Region is set correctly on your PC.
If the game’s launcher isn’t launching the game, then the reason might be because you have set a different time zone. To fix this, click on the Date and Time option on the lower right side of your Taskbar and click on the “adjust date and time” option.
Make sure to toggle both the “Set Time Automatically” option and the “Set Time Zone Automatically” option to ON. After this, click on “Sync Now”. After applying the settings, run the launcher and see if it fixes the issue or not.
Make sure to install Gaming Services and Xbox Identity Provider.
Download the Xbox Identity Provider app from here. Open the link and it’ll take you to the Microsoft website and you’ll find the Xbox Identity Provider app there. Click on the Get option and it’ll open the Microsoft store. After this, click on the install button.
Uninstall Gaming Services and reinstall it.
You can also try to uninstall the remains of Gaming services by copying this command “get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers” and then heading into the Powershell command menu. To do this, type “Powershell” in windows search box and run the app as administrator by right-clicking on it. After the window is launched, paste the command over there and press the Enter key. It will uninstall every Microsoft Gaming Service from your PC. Once it’s uninstalled, it is time to install it again.
To do so, copy this command- “start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN” and paste it in the PowerShell window and press the Enter key. This will open Microsoft Store and then you’ll see the install button in Gaming Services. Click on it and click on “yes” to allow the installation process to complete. Once it’s done, open the Minecraft launcher and try running the game.
Delete Xbl Login Credentials.
For this, type Credential Manager in the windows search box and open the application. Now go to Windows Credentials and scroll down to find the entry “XblGrtsDeviceKey” or “Xbl| DeviceKey“. Click on any one of them and then select Remove. After this, close Windows Credentials and restart your PC. Now, check if the error persists while launching the game.
Restart all the services.
To restart all services, type services in the windows search box and click on the Services options. Now, find and double click on the IP helper option and make sure the startup type is set to Automatic. After this, click on “Apply” and “Start” and lastly click on “Ok”. Repeat the same for all of the other Xbox services.
Now, find Windows Update on the list and double click on it, and set it to “Automatic”. Also, make sure to enable Gaming services. if is not running, right-click on it and click on “Start” and if it’s running then click on “Stop” and restart the service by switching between “Start” and “Stop” options. Do the same for the Microsoft Store Service.
Uninstall Minecraft Launcher and reinstall it.
If none of the above-mentioned methods worked for you, it is time to uninstall the Minecraft launcher. You can do so by searching it in the windows search box and right-clicking on it, and then clicking on the “Uninstall” option.
After this, reboot your PC and then open the Microsoft store. Here, find the Minecraft Launcher and install it. You can also download the Minecraft launcher from the official Minecraft Website. However, make sure to try the Windows 7/8 version.
The final step to fix the Minecraft Launcher Login Error 0x87DD0013 is by executing the following command in Windows PowerShell- “Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}”. After doing so, close the window and open Minecraft Launcher and you should be able to log in with any further issues.
