Miasma Chronicles: How to limit in-game FPS

The lack of tactical RPG games in today’s world is disheartening. However, thanks to the release of Miasma Chronicles on May 23, 2023, that pain has subsided a little. Developed by Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden fame video game development studio: The Bearded Ladies, Miasma Chronicles is available for purchase on the Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. The overall reception of the game seems to be pretty positive, with critics mostly praising the gameplay and overall narrative. Since Miasma Chronicles is such a fresh release, there’s a lot about the game that players don’t know. One such query is how to limit the in-game fps.

Developers provide the in-game FPS limit option in their games so that players can adjust it however they like, depending on their PC’s capabilities. GPUs and CPUs, for that matter, have advanced a lot in the last two decades. And thanks to that, games, especially on PC, are becoming much more demanding. But not everybody is in possession of the most high-end machine there. As such, giving players these types of settings allows them to play the game without taxing the hardware. So, how do you limit in-game FPS in the newly released Miasma Chronicles? Let’s find out!

Miasma Chronicles: How to limit in-game FPS

To limit in-game FPS in Miasma Chronicles, you should first head to the settings. There you will see six main options to choose from: Graphics, Video, Gameplay, Audio, Control, and Credits.

For the purpose of this guide, you can safely ignore all but the Video option. Select it, and you will be presented with six more sub-options: Screen Mode, Display Resolution, VSYNC, Gamma, FSR Quality, and FPS Limit. Choose the last one. Now, all you need to do is limit your FPS as you see fit. Eg– 60/120/144/240.

And you are done. Miasma Chronicles is a fairly well-optimized game, so you shouldn’t have any major problems while playing it. The game’s minimum requirements aren’t even that high compared to some other recently released titles. If you didn’t know, here are the minimum system requirements for the game:

  • OS: Windows 10 or newer
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD FX 8350
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 290 or Intel Arc A380
  • Storage: 30 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: SSD (Preferred)

As you can see, most PC gamers will be able to run the game on their hardware. But it’s still great that The Bearded Ladies team decided to include an in-game FPS limit option for players. And it’s especially great for Steam Deck users, who generally require games to run at either 40 or 30 fps in most games. To add to that, with handheld PC gaming becoming more mainstream thanks to Steam Deck and the upcoming ROG Ally, it’s high time that developers start to provide more performance options like this in their games.
