Metal Gear is back! It seems that the rumors about Metal Gear Solid 3 and its remake were true. Konami unveiled the MGS3 remake during Sony’s May 25th PlayStation Showcase, and it is named Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater. There wasn’t much to see, though, since the reveal was just a cinematic trailer. Regardless, it’s great to know that the Metal Gear series is finally being revived. Ever since that reveal, fans have been continuously looking for the release date of the game on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
It’s already been confirmed that the remake will be available on those three platforms. Metal Gear Solid 3 is still considered the best stealth action game out there. It made the series more popular than ever and essentially elevated Hideo Kojima’s director status. The original game was released in 2004 for the PS2 by Konami and later ported to different platforms. Now, more than almost two decades later, we are getting a remake. The absence of Kojima will certainly be felt by fans of the original, but still, it would be interesting to see how Konami delivers after missing for some time from the AAA-gaming space. But when do they exactly plan to release Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta: Snake Eater for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S? Let’s find out!!
Metal Gear Solid 3 (MGS3) Snake Eater Remake Release Date for PC, PS5, & Xbox Series X/S
At the time of publishing this article, we don’t have any confirmation pertaining to the release date of Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, or more accurately, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Konami has yet to reveal any major details on the remake except that the game is getting a PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S release. However, if we are to speculate, we think that the game will be released in late 2024 or even 2025, but this is just speculation from our side, so take this information with a pinch of salt.
One thing we do have confirmation on is that Virtuos Studio is assisting the Konami dev team on the remake. The Singapore-based studio has a pretty stellar track record, as they have already worked on porting titles like Batman Return to Arkham and many more. The reveal trailer for the remake didn’t show anything substantial, so we can’t really say anything about how the development of the MGS3: Snake Eater Remake is going to be. Konami has been out of the AAA video gaming world for some time now. However, they are seriously focusing on getting back into the market with the announcement of Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid Remake, along with a bunch of other games.
The teaser website for Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Remake also doesn’t mention anything release-related. Suffice it to say, fans will need to wait a while before they get any kind of information on the remake.
