Considering the first and second games’ success, expectations for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 were high. And in the usual Insomniac fashion, the studio went ahead and stood up to all those expectations. Officially released on October 20, 2023, SM2 takes place ten months after the events of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. And as you might have guessed, both Peter and Miles play a big part in this one. There are a plethora of enemies to defeat, amazing web-swinging to do, and, of course, exciting missions to complete. However, right now, there happens to be an issue with the in-game missions, as many players are reporting. We are indeed talking about the Mission Not Showing Up issue in the game. So, if you are struggling with the same problem, consider reading until the end.
The issue here speaks for itself. For whatever reason, some players are unable to find a new mission after completing the current one. Why this happens is something we don’t know yet. But like most issues, this can be fixed too. And so, take a look at the guide below to resolve it.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Mission Not Showing Up Issue: Is there any fix yet
For now, players will need to make do with the following workarounds, as Insomniac has yet to acknowledge this issue. So, until we get an official fix, try the workarounds mentioned below.
Restart –
Before trying out any workarounds, we highly suggest you try the restart method. Start with the game first, and if it doesn’t yield any useful results, restart the console too. If the issue still persists, move on to the next method.
Switch to either Miles or Peter –
The most common reason you are not seeing any kind of mission is that you need to switch to either Miles or Peter. Some missions are particularly Spider-Man-specific, so changing to one of them will most probably fix this issue. Additionally, you should also open up the FNSM in-game app and see if you have a mission available there. You can also try completing some side missions, which will hopefully get rid of any delays that are restricting the main story mission from showing up.
Update the game –
Physical players should go ahead and download the Day 1 patch of the game. Digital players don’t have to do this since the patch is already included in the pre-download. So, go ahead and get the update, and then launch SM2.
Reload a previous save –
Always make sure to make saves frequently and before any kind of major event. This will save you from a lot of issues, believe it or not. Now, in case of this issue, reload the save that’s closest to your current progress and continue progressing. After this, check whether the same bug occurs after completing a mission.
Reinstall –
If the issue still persists, the only option we have left is to simply reinstall the entire game. And before we do that, make sure you have saved your game progress on the cloud. After a fresh installation, the chances of running into this bug are quite low.
Well, that’s all we have on this particular issue for now. Unfortunately, this isn’t the only issue that players seem to be encountering in SM2. In case you are facing the piano puzzle bug, take a look at this guide. And as always, don’t forget to bookmark DigiStatement for more guides and info on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
