LG Wing, Q9 One, X4(2019), X2(2019) gets September 2020 Security Patch update

LG is a Korean tech brand that was founded in 1947. It is a pioneer brand popular for several tech gadgets. Though LG is not known worldwide for smartphones, this massive company has earned a lot of satisfied buyers when it comes to household products like LG televisions and washing machines.

But LG has successfully laid out a decent market service in some countries. To all the LG users, here is the greatest news for you. LG is rolling out September 2020 security patch updates for four devices- LG Wing, LG Q9 One, LG X4 (2019), and LG X2 (2019).

Security patch updates can either be from LG itself or Google/ chipset makers. Here are the changelogs for both the released update builds-

Google/ Chipset September security patch changelog-

Security patch applied

  • Added permission check when installing package in PackageManager
  • GPS-related unnecessary message object (intent) Deleted
  • Corrected to confirm user consent when copying bug report data screenshots
  • Corrected permission bypass error due to a message object held during Media Recording
  • App Zygote policy modify permissions bypass vulnerability
  • Call vulnerability fix the module can modify the hold message objects
  • Additional exceptions for preventing memory overflow in MP4 H263 codec
  • Fixed an error in which the screen composition module could release the double memory
  • Corrected omission of boundary condition check in audio sonivox library
  • Omitted boundary check in CrytoPlugin related to Media DRM Modification
  • Bluetooth related bitpool boundary check check added and spoofing attack vulnerability corrected
  • Modified to prevent window overlay on the Bluetooth Setting related search request screen and dialog screen
  • Stabilized to validate packet message in Kernel SElinux
  • Kernel Reuse vulnerability after memory release in USB driver
  • Added exception handling for memory excess due to omission of boundary check when processing Wireless beacon packet
  • Memory corruption prevention in MediaTek Multimedia Processing Driver and Boundary test error correction
  • Qualcomm Wi-Fi driver buffer reading error prevention correction
  • Reliability/compatibility improvement by changing the Wi-Fi firmware
  • Added exception handling when accessing Kernel memory of Qualcomm Audio driver
  • Integrated management with Qualcomm TrustZone and Widevine patches
  • Qualcomm MPSS stabilization patch applied
  • Qualcomm Modem Protocol related stabilization patch
  • OOB exception handling added by Qualcomm Diag Service

LG September security patch changelog-

  • Fix for a vulnerability that allows unauthorized applications to access sensitive information on the device
  • Vulnerability that allows unauthorized applications to perform audio operations during a call
  • Additional fixes for violation of Google Play Protect (GPP) GMS policy
