OnePlus which is owned by BBK Electronics is slightly different from its brother companies, Oppo or Vivo. On one hand, where Oppo and Vivo handsets were released as a camera phone, the first smartphone by OnePlus came out as a flagship killer. OnePlus is currently the most reputed Android brand in Asia and is the favorite brand of many users around the globe. OnePlus smartphones are called flagship killers because these devices bring flagship smartphone features available in Apple, or Samsung devices to its device and give it to the public at a very low price compared to those brands. But, this time OnePlus is in the headlines for a negative remark.

OnePlus devices that were bought from the Indian market are seeing an “un-hideable” notification to join the Red Cable Club. “Un-Hideable” in the sense that these notifications can neither be blocked nor be disabled.

But, if you are tired of this notification you can remove this Red Cable Club notification using ADB. Just go to the Bootloader Mode, connect your phone to PC via ADB, and type this code in the ADB shell, and hit enter and reboot.

pm uninstall –user 0 com.oneplus.membership

After rebooting, this notification will not trouble you again.

OnePlus announced the Red Cable Club program to benefit the Indian customers with certain benefits, rewards, and many more privileges to the members. By joining this club you get free cloud storage, huge discounts on OnePlus products, and an extended product warranty.

But the thing to be noticed here is that this notification is only available for Indian users and not for Global users. Hence, many OnePlus users are angry with the company for adding pre-installed applications and un-removable notifications to Indian devices. Earlier, the company tried to force Netflix and Facebook to people, and now this notification. It seems that by adding these unwanted apps and notifications, OnePlus is losing the users’ trust.

We are continuously tracking reports related to these Red Cable Club notifications & will update you with more information whenever a fix arrives, so stay tuned! Follow our website to get technology updates as soon as we publish them.
