Honor Magic Watch 2, 1.0.7.16 update rolling out with Remote Shutter feature
Honor has been delivering updates to many of its devices lately. Not just smartphones, but it also includes smart bands and smartwatches. A few days back, we saw the Honor Band 5 receiving a new update in India. Well, it seems like now its time for the Magic Watch 2. Yes, that’s right! Honor is rolling out an all-new update for the Magic Watch 2 in India.
The latest update comes with the firmware version 1.0.7.16 and does bring a lot of changes. This update brings some really cool features like the Remote Camera Shutter feature as well. You can now take pictures from your smartphone camera just by tapping on the remote camera shutter on the Magic Watch 2. How cool is that! However, Honor says this feature is currently only available for devices running EMUI 10.1 and above. You can now also add manual workouts mode in the Huawei App for your smartwatch.
That means you can manually add all those customized workouts that you do. Isn’t that cool? This will allow you to have your own workout mode. Well, apart from these cool features the update also brings a lot of improvements and fixes as well. It also optimizes the system and improves performance as well. The OTA update is currently rolling out only in India and weighs around 41.47 MB in size. You can check out your health app to install this new update. However, you do need to take care of these few important things given below.
Note!
You should receive the OTA update notification when you connect the smartwatch to your smartphone. You can update it from there. Before that, you need to properly ensure that these few things are in place. Take a look below:
- The smartwatch should have a charge above 20% before the OTA upgrade.
- The app on the smartphone shows only the percentage of transferred firmware files that have been downloaded. Even after that, you need to wait for the watch to install the transferred firmware.
- Update the Huawei Health App to the latest version 10.0.5.310 to be able to add manual workouts and use the feature.
