On 26 April after a three-day-long pre-download, miHoYo finally opened the servers for its newest gacha title – Honkai: Star Rail. It’s the next game to come out of the Chinese game development studio after launching Genshin Impact back in 2020. All isn’t over, however, as miHoYo continues to gear up for another launch of a game called Zenless Zone Zero in the near future. On the other hand, Star Rail seems to be another Genshin in the making in terms of popularity. It was easily able to get an impressive 11 million pre-registrations before launch and upon the availability of pre-download, it topped the download charts in multiple regions. Now that it’s here and all ready to play, we can’t wait to see how it will fare against the success of Genshin Impact. But all is not well in the Astral Express. Lots of players are reporting an issue where they are unable to load their progress in another platform even when using the same account.
Cross-saves in multiplatform games are becoming the norm these days. And it’s a good thing. For the uninitiated, cross-save is a feature in which your game progression is saved separately in a dedicated server. You can access this saved progress from any platform, provided that the game is available on it. Trying to play the same game on different devices with varying accounts can be annoying and tedious for most gamers unless you like that kind of thing. Cross-save practically “saves” you from all this hassle. It allows players to not worry about things like corrupt save files, lost hardware, and anything like that. Star Rail, like Genshin Impact, comes with the cross-save feature. And now it is having its own issues, making players unable to progress in the game. So, is there a fix for it? Let’s see.
Honkai Star Rail Cross Save Issue: Is there any fix yet
Yes, there’s a workaround for this issue, which you can use to fix it. This possible fix is all thanks to a Reddit user, u/HamsterLow6419. To start, you need to navigate to the options menu of the game which you can access by clicking on the “mobile-like” icon. After that, click on the Settings icon and you will be presented with five options – Graphics Settings, Sound Settings, Language Settings, Account Settings, and Other Settings. Ignore every single option except for Account Settings. Once selected, you will notice that it has only one sub-option – User Center. Just select the “Go” button. Now, you see all account options. In the “Link account” section, select Link and then type in an email along with the password and verification code. Do note that you should use an email that isn’t already connected to Genshin or any other miHoYo game. Try an alternate email. Once done with the email and password, agree with the ToS & Privacy Policy. Click on the “Link” button below and voila!! You have now successfully linked your account. Now, try logging in from another hardware and see if the cross-save works.
Also, note that you need to be on the same server in Honkai Star Rail on which you have made progress primarily. This is important because if you log in with the same account on a different device, but select a server where you have made no progress with that account, you will have to start from scratch. So, make sure to select the same server. Anyways, this brings us to the end of this guide. For more guides like this, don’t forget to visit DigiStatement.
