The online counterpart of the popular game from Rockstar, GTA Online, has been completed a decade since its initial release. Since 2013, both the offline and online versions of GTA 5 have been a fan favorite but maybe not for long. This is because the upcoming entry into the series, GTA 6, has been announced and is scheduled to be released on consoles in the fall of 2025. Well, there’s still ample time left. Anyway, coming back to the topic of this guide, if you are encountering an error in GTA Online where your profile doesn’t load on your PS5, consider reading until the end as we have shared all the details regarding the same.
This issue isn’t new. Players on multiple platforms have been encountering this issue for ages, and most have been able to fix it after trying a bunch of effective workarounds. In this guide, we have specifically shared workarounds that are PS5-exclusive since it seems that recently many have encountered the same issue on the console. Restart
Well, before you try any workaround, it is always best to restart your system at least once. Sometimes, although not very common, a restart can do wonders in fixing such issues. So, consider restarting your PS5 and then launching the game to check whether the issue persists.
Access Saved Data and Game/App Settings (Create Cloud Backup first)
For this workaround, you will need to delete the saved game settings from your console’s storage. To do this, access the settings menu on your PS5 and then scroll down to find the Saved Data & Game/App Settings. In the next menu, select the Saved Data (PS5) option and then the Update or Delete from Console Storage option. Once selected, find GTA 5 or GTA Online from the list of games available, checkmark it, and select the Edit button. In the Edit menu, make sure to specifically delete the GTA 5 Profile option.
Account Linking
If your profile isn’t loading up in the game, chances are that your PSN account isn’t connected to the Rockstar Social Club account. To check this out, access the social club account and then check whether your PSN account is linked. If not, link it and then launch the game.
Sign-Out and Sign-In
You can also sign out of your PSN account on your console and then sign back in to check whether the issue persists. To do this, go to the Settings menu on your PS5 console, and then select the Users and Accounts option. Next, select the Other tab. Here, select Sign-Out. After signing out, log back in using your account credentials. Now, launch the game to check whether the issue persists.
Check PSN Service Status
It is also possible that the PSN service is down when you are trying to log into the game. To check this, visit the official PSN Service Status page. Here, you will need to check whether all the services are online. If the service is down, then all you can do is wait until it comes back up.
Rebuild Database
For this workaround, you will need to boot the PS5 into Safe Mode. How? First, turn off your PS5. Then, press and hold the power button until you hear two beeps. After this, connect the controller to your PS5. Once the Safe Mode menu appears, select the Clear Cache and Rebuild Database option. Next, select Rebuild Database and wait. Once the console boots up, the issue should no longer persist.
Reinstall
If none of the workarounds have been effective yet, then you can try reinstalling the game. While it can be time-consuming, it’s the best shot you have at getting rid of the profile loading error.
Well, these are the workarounds that we suggest you try if you encounter the Loading Profile Error in GTA Online. We hope that you find this guide informative. If you did, consider visiting DigiStatement daily for more such interesting reads on all things gaming.
