God of War Ragnarok Release Date Delayed

UPDATE: God of War: Ragnarok full release has been delayed to 2023. Reports suggest the game will be released in November of the same year.

Below is The Original Post From 11th June:

God of War Ragnarok is a yet-to-be-released adventure and action game developed by Santa Monica Studio and will be released to the public by Sony Interactive Entertainment. In this article, we will discuss the recent rumors and leaks about the God of War Ragnarok Release Date which seems to be delayed. It might interest fans to know that God of War: Ragnarok has been confirmed to be the last title in the God of War series. Here is an explanation from the developers.

“There are several reasons, I think one of the most important reasons is time. The first game took five years. The second game, I don’t know how long it’s going to take but I’m just going to throw out that it’s going to take close to a similar time, right, to do this. Then if you think, wow, the third one in that same timeframe, and we’re talking like a span of close to 15 years of a single story. I feel like that’s just too stretched out. I feel like we’re asking too much to say the actual completion of that story taking that long just feels too long.”

God of War Ragnarok Release Date Delayed

It would seem the developers want the game to end with a bang which could be the reason there have been shifts and changes in release dates. The game was scheduled to be released in September 2021 and made available at launch for PS4 and PS5. We can recall Santa Monica Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment initially dropped the trailer for the game in September 2021 with a hint of releasing it in the same year. This was not to be as the release date for the game was moved to September 2022 and now, reliable sources have stated the release date will likely be postponed again. @PlayStationGamesize from Twitter, one of the sources tweeted that the release date has been changed from September 30th, 2022 to December 31st. It also stated the new December release date is a placeholder.

This implies that although the release date has been moved, we will likely get a full release between October 1st and December 31st, 2022. Remember the developers are known for picking up release dates by dividing the year into quarters. This new information implies God of War: Ragnarok will be made available to fans and players in the last quarter of 2022, which falls between October 1st and December 31st.
